Deathloop and Gohstwire Tokyo will be day one Gamepass releases. They might fukk around and put it on Gamepass PC same day they come out as “Sony exclusives”

You must have missed the announcement. The last time MLB extended the deal this was added to it and it wasn't just specified to be Xbox but additional platforms. Even Nintendo commented on it.

Do publishers have to pay the developer/IP owner also? It seems like I’m not sure if sony has to pay the MLB for the license....who then have to pay sony to publish it on another platform, who then have to share the splits with mlb/ms/sony

MLB is the publisher on Xbox. Yeah you wanna use MLBs license then you pay them for it and they give you the terms. Seems like MLB wanted the game on more than just Playstation seeing as it's the only baseball game worth anything.
