I wish I knew why so many people keep saying Neo Geo. It was one of the greatest and longest running gaming platforms ever. It had released throughout the 90s, all up until 2004. In fact it outlived the Genesis and SNES with game releases being the 2D powerhouse it was. There are tons of Neo Geo cabinets still out there. When arcades started shutting down and places began phasing out traditional joystick-and-pushbutton arcade machines for the "Raw Thrills" deluxe light gun and driving games and shyt like that, I remember Neo Geo cabs being one of the few traditional units besides the Capcom-Marvel mashup fighters to stick around for a long time.
Im waiting for the day someone finally releases a competent commercial portable Neo Geo emulator with accurate sounds, colors, inputs, and library. Having Metal Slug 1-5 on the go alone is worth every penny. Neo Geo kicked ass.
