If the Aiyuk pick qualifies as getting lucky then that means it was a good pick

Some of the early round WR's we've been attached to are basically Deebo replacements Xavier Legette and Malachi Corley. Then of course Rice and McCaffrey later on are probably slot guys so they wouldn't take Deebo or Aiyuk's spot that's if they are even realistic targets.

The thing is even if we trade Aiyuk and get a good return back and even if we draft a great WR for the future, this year in particular we will have a big ass downgrade.

No doubt, that's why I posted earlier than trading Aiyuk didn't make a lot of sense. Even if he leaves next season and we "lose" the chance of a early round pick, it's not like that pick will contribute to trying to get back to the Superbowl ASAP. And by the time that pick could actually contribute at the level BA has in the last couple of years, we'll already be in rebuilding mode so it's whatever, lol.

Niners are in a rebuild with or without Aiyuk so it makes a lot of sense to trade him now. He's not irreplaceable. He's not like how when we had Owens and Rice. Talking about trading them made you like crazy.

Since he isn't that game changing WR. It's much more wise to spend that 25M per year on the rebuild which will include Purdy contract
