I think it initialy was supposed to be but the NBA didn't validate it (I don't remember the details). Miami caught a break. Was supposed to be Riles first big signing if I'm not mistaken.

There are many really : Houston, Amare, Rashard Lewis, Joe Johnson...

For me I always felt only the very best should get max contracts, but then again GMs have money to spend. Never understood how 20ish a game could you get the max.
