My aunts took me and my cousins to see Drumline because one of us played snare in the school band. I thought I was gonna hate it just based off the last time they took us to the flix where we saw "Kingdom Come" starring LL C00n J :hhh:

You were forced into watching Goodfellas, loved it, then had to be forced to watch Casino (or Vice Versa)? :what:

Snowfall.

No way in HELL I was watching another “black male sells drugs” type of show, and even when my girl forced me to watch season 1 I wasn’t convinced. But season 2 was excellent and season 3 was incredible.

The Family That Preys. I disliked Tyler Perry's Madea movies so I was ready to automatically hate this movie. My girlfriend at the time rented it one weekend from Redbox a few weeks after it was released on DVD and we put it on because there was nothing good on tv.

I throughly enjoyed it and ended up buying the DVD for myself. Made me take a better look at his non Madea movies and while they're not great movies, his movies are pretty enjoyable. :yeshrug:

in high school we had to read the great gatsby but we also had to watch the redford movie, ended up really liking both the book and film. Then concientally that year they released the the TV movie version, and ended up liking that version too.

I funnily enough haven't watched the Leo/Toby version of the film yet.
Your not missing much. In fact you should avoid it. The Redford movie and the tv movie are much better. There's even a hip hop version of The Great Gatsby called "G" starring Richard T. Jones as Gatsby/G and Blair Underwood as the Tom Buchanan character! :dead:
