Messi does have the penalty flaw, but so does the entire Argentine team. . If they go to penalties, they lose... Period
I have a problem when the so-called "greatest player ever" dives in the box for a penalty when the contact was miniscule.... in fact he created the contact by dragging his foot against a defender that was getting out of his way because he knew the dive was coming. Then best player walked away with a smirk. What makes the call even more egregious is that FIFA implemrnted the VAR system to avoid shyt like this, but it doesn't get used on the "best player, but it has been used in every match since? That muthafukka dove and everyone knows it.
Let's talk about mental strength and how Messi lives in CR7 and basically every Real Madrid player's head. It's the reason why CR7 rarely outplays Messi in ANY match they are facing each other.... Only a Sergio Ramos header bails out that 6'2 mental midget. Messi lives in Marcelo's head too ever since he hat tricked Brazil and badly cooked Marcelo on the last goal.
Real Madrid has still only beaten Barcelona a handful of times since CR7 arrived in Madrid... not a fluke.
Messi's 500th goal at the Bernabeu brought out the real bytch in CR7, the entire RM team and their fan base.... on the touchline, crying and cursing.
No smart or sane person who has been watching football will say that CR7 is better than Messi. CR7 won a Euro title when basically all the Euro superpowers were rebuilding.... Nobody was inpressed. CR7 is going to have to win a WC before anyone concedes him being better than Messi.

both ronaldo and messi got 5 Ballon d'or breh. do you know how hard that is? do you know how many players playing professionally in the world? do you know how many legit league in the world? it's the biggest talent pool in the world breh. you think nba is competitive? global soccer is probably 10 times more competitive than nba breh and i ain't joking.
and these greats got 5 of them each. you can argue who deserved it more but they've been 2 best players over a decade now.

If you play in a weak generation, individual awards mean nothing. Both Ronaldo and Messi have benefited from the fact this has been a weak generation with no much in the way of competition. You can cite how many players there are who play soccer that doesn't mean much since these things happen in waves. Some eras have far more competition than others.
Just look at Henry. He never won World Player of the Year cause he was around during the era of Zidane, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho. You can try to hype these dudes all you want. But just because they are racking up awards in a weak era don't make them the greatest ever. All it does is make them the best of this generation. Nothing more.
that's like saying kobe or bron is overrated cuz they played in a weaker era
and being the best soccer player in the world means something whether you admit it or not. again, soccer is just too competitive.
cr7 and messi have been the best 2 players with no debate breh. calling them overrated is just wrong. they are no doubt top 5-10 player all time. and they have chance to be top 3. stats dont lie.
