I was pretty nice playing Outside line backer. Was huge, had good speed and footwork, was having fun.

We didn't have a huge program, and they promoted me to varsity almost immediately. I was LOVING it, working out, playing, chicks loved the athletes at our school.

Long story short, the team captain was older and also played LB/Safety and he was incredible, one day sophomore year we were lining up against each other running drills in practice, and he hit me with a swim move/elbow drop that took all my will to ever put on a football uniform again.

I layed on the field gasping for life for a good 2 minutes, before I let anyone help me up and walk to the sideline, I called my mother to get me and never suited up again. The rest of the team teased/harassed me about quitting for an entire year. I started hanging out in the computer lab after school instead, and ended up earning a full ride to college that way.

I have the knees of men twice my age.

Too many injuries.
Anyone who has been injured alot knows how hard rehab is.

At some point you just get tired of it.

Gotta love some of the honesty in these stories.:ehh:

I never had the heart to try out so reading these really are powerful to see how black men can still take a L and make something out of it.:ehh:
