The MC is literally a terrorist.

Lord of Mysteries

I've always heard it's an amazing web novel that transcends the web novel medium.

Read throught the first volume of "I May Be A Guild Receptionistm but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time

Honestly colored me impressed. I wasn't expecting this to be more then a fun read, but it ended up being better then I was expecting. Premise fills in with the title. Alina is a guild receptionist that hates working overtime. But you find out very early that she has an abnormally strong skill, which you can guess from the title can Solo any boss. Receptionist can't be adventurers so how she can keep her secret is the big thing in the story early on.

Alina as a lead is very entertaining. She is very brash, has a short temper and is a muscle head. Meanwhile the deuteragonist Jade is a smart and has a big heart. World building is very simplified world revolves around skills and dungeons. Tho this could be expanded.

Start of the novel is kinda slow. But it does it thing setting the tone that Alina desires to be a receptionist first and foremost. But given how much she hates overtime that she was willing to go in secretly as an adventurer to kill the Hellflame Dragon the source of his overtime. The dilemma that Silver Sword, the strong party in the guild was also there having issues. Jade the leader of them spotted Alina and was able to confirm it when he want into the guild.

Now the next part is probably the weakest part of the volume since it mostly has Jade basically stalking and constantly following Alina to recruit her to join Silver Sword. This persistence give Jade a high sense of annoyance given that its obvious Alina won't join. But him knowing her secret and Jade having a high favorable reputation just leads to a situation that Alina can't do anything about till he goes away. Tho you do get a better sense of how Alina's work day operates which is nice. It gets made known that being a receptionist is a desired position since it is stable unlike with adventurers where there is much more uncertainty not to mention risk involved.

The Red shard that appeared after offer Alina a secret quest with the location being

The first big event has with Shay causing trouble on the town. Basically he woke up a raid boss and had it fire at the town. I'm assuming they needed to evacuate more people before they could use dangerous skills and magic but even then it was clear this was a setup by the author to trigger things. Alina seeing her house torn apart went full :demonic:. She ends up defeating the Golem in her disguise as the "Executioner". Tho the damage to her house is already done. Making matters worse for her it let out a big ass commotion. It drew the attention of the head of the guild Glenn. His skill was able about viewing events in the past and being able to move into position to view events in the past and obviously move into any position when back into the present is a deadly skill and basically has Alina sweating since she knows he knows her secret.

He brings Alina for questioning, but its clear Glen is more interested then her in more ways beyond her secret identity. This leads to a fight between Alina and Glen and here is where it is made know how scary Dia Skills are. Her Dia Skill was able to break the barrier that Glen used with his Gigrus Chronos skill. Showing the power scale of skills being Dia > Sigrus > Regin. This leads to Glen's request of her helping out Silver Sword clear out the White Tower Dungeon, which correlates to the Quest that she received from the drop from the Hellflame Dragon. This makes it apparent that secret quests are very real. The promise for her to provide assistance to avoid overtime was more then enough for her to agree reluctantly.

Alina joins Jade and Silver Sword's other two members Lulu and Lowe in tackling the dungeon. We are introduced to Rufus as he was apart of the 2nd strongest party in the guild. We see his team pressing forward and by the time Silver Sword catch up to him Rufus is badly hurt and the rest of his party was killed. Rufus calling out Alina as a monster and blackmailing them with revealing the truth of Alina to join Silver Sword and tackle the dungeon. That immediately should have raised red flags.

Alina's backstory was start when this volume got me interest raised. As a young kid she admired adventurers. And there was a specific adventurer that she admired, whos name was "Uncle" Shroud. She wanted to become an adventurer and go on adventurers with him. Well he was willing to tell her the reality that being an adventurer was something she shouldn't be put on a pedestal and should aim to be a receptionist. A stable and low risk job, which is where you can she her beliefs out picking that as her career path. Obviously they butted heads.

Now Shroud's group never came back from their recent journey to the dungeon till weeks after the fact. As a kid Alina was oblivious to this. And it wasn't when she was straight up told that Shroud wasn't coming back for her to understand the situation. Man telling a kid like that the person she looked up to just is gone. Thats messed up :mjcry:. It did set her on the path to being a receptionist and gave her an understanding the dangers of being an adventurer. But this really adds her weight on her not wanting to becoming an adventurer since this is significant trauma. This flashback occurs right before Jade mentions that she isn't needed at Silver Sword anymore and she can go back to being an adventurer. Big red flags here but Alina starts to get feelings similar to her past. She is conflicted as she is getting what she wants. Which sets up for character development.

Now when Silver Sword reenters White Tower it is being clear something is not right with Rufus. They end up encountering a Dark God who basically has a multitude of Dia skills just outlining that this party is fukked. One being able to copy any skill. However Rufus shows his true colors in not allowing the party to escape. So basically Rufus woke up this Dark God by sacrificing his party members. fukk him :pacspit:. Silha the Dark God kills Rufus tho due to him thinking he was above him. Kind of funny actually :russ:.

It flashes back to Alina whos back at her branch and has an uneasy feeling in her chest. You can tell she feels nervous regarding Silver Sword if they will be alright. When the Silver Sword accessory flashes indicating a member is in trouble. This ends up being great development for Alina as she is willing to put her work aside and not risk losing a person she clearly has grown fond of even if it means adding more overtime. It shows that avoiding overtime for her isn't an absolute and there are things she would prioritize over it.

Man you talk about the term playing with your food. Silha really is at fault here. Man had Jade to deads rights but kept toying with him until Alina came to his rescue. Unsurprisingly Alina is having trouble against Silha and his multitude of skills until something happened to her War Hammer causing it to change from silver to gold. It feels like perhaps this is some enhanced Dia skill. Since her hammer now has a wind ability to help defend herself, but now she could take down Silha.

The alarming thing is that there is multiple Dark Gods created by the ancients supposedly. Possibly the ancients each had a group that survey each of these secret dungeons where they created these Dark Gods. Alina killed Silha before any answers could be given, but the ancients somehow created things that surpassed even their own strengths. Def is something worth to keep track of but for now Jade and Silver Sword is safe and Alina is able to go back to her usual work. But given that more secret dungeons are popping out Alina's help will very likely be called upon again.

Starting Reading Bottom-Tier Tomozaki-Kun Volume 1

Having watched S1 of the anime already one thing I did notice very quickly was thanks to inner monolouges Tomozaki's inner presence is more arrogant. You do notice as he associates with people like Aoi, Nakamura, etc you see he gains respect from them in their work ethic. Even if they don't see eye to eye and you def see him getting a bigger picture of the situation around him as the story progresses in this novel.

Aoi's split personality is made even clearer here. Basically how she reacts to Tomozaki's progress and how he reacts to her is the big thing here. But one big thing that is mentioned in more detail in the novel is how remarkable her work ethic is. From the recording he heard of her preparing potentially for the EC incident to smoothing things out after the Tomozaki vs Nakamura rematch. That is main thing that impresses Tomozaki.

Yuzu's small arc is much more emphasized in the novel. Closer to Aoi originally she thinks Tomozaki in a low regard. But the big thing that happened in the Atagami tutoring thing was that it was clear that Yuzu doesn't respond well to conflict and her willing to make an attempt to change like how Tomozaki did was uncomfortable for her. But Tomozaki's motivation to change as a person, but his willingness to improve in Atagami at a super high level impressed her and motivated her very slightly. Where they were friendly with each, but gave Yuzu the slight confidence to speak up in the Tomozaki vs Nakumara rematch incident.

The main thing here was still how Tomozaki gave up on life and needed a push of a rival to start that. It is likely one big driving force for Aoi to do this is her respect for Tomozaki in Atagami since not only does put a ton of effort into getting better in the game, but also given how much it is apparent she values hard work. After all Tomozaki giving up on life was clearly stated as the type of people she hates. People that give up.
