They have a million picks. Nothing he did would have compromised their future unless it was something idiotic like trading for Lavine.

It's always been clear that Giddey doesn't fit next to SGA. His shot has never improved. It made no sense to keep biding their time with him. He's not a bad player but he needs the ball and that's not gona happen in OKC.

Presti also facilitated Lively AND Gafford to Dallas. That's a main rival that's also young he helped put together.

They've had a remarkable season but Presti has done things that make no sense and his lack of urgency this season should be scrutinized. They could have won it all this season.

Nobody was touching Giddey this season.

I don't disagree I'm just saying staying put was the lower risk because this team hasn't been proven. Chet is their 5 that's what they've decided. They're undersized but they're also depending on 1st and 2nd year players to win a title. In that situation they could've made upgrades but it still would come down to Chet and JDub to be great at a really early part of their career.
