Having worked this industry for years, I recommend to only do it as your last option.
Done it off and on but have a lot of experience. Personally, I enjoy it but maybe I'm a masochist. Lol.

But there are some moments where I have truly come a hair away from losing all faith in humanity.

I used to work for a fitness company. The amount of pregnant women and 70* year old people that asked if a body building program was right for them still makes me laugh. And cringe.

Retail is by far the worst. And I'm already feeling rage just thinking about it.

I worked at Grainger for five years and Southwest as a supervisor for a year. Southwest was cool. I made decisions and there wasn’t anybody that you can see above me.

CACs get mad when they ask for a supervisor and they see my black ass coming to resolve the situation.
:skip:
CAC: Can I talk to your manager?
:beli:
Me: Sorry Sir, I’m here to restore your situation.
:childplease:
CAC: There has to be somebody above you.
:beli:
Me: Nope, but you can call this number and tell them your comments.
:yeshrug:
CAC: I see the plane outside. Why aren’t we leaving on time?
:beli:
Me: There is literally a thunderstorm. We can take off when there is lightning within 5 miles of the airport. Our Agent explained that to you twice and stated the same thing over the PA system.
:gucci:
CAC: Can I get that number? You are going to hear from my lawyer.

Southwest was cool 95% of the time. I just chop it up with customers all day. Laugh with the agents and avoided the other sups. It sucks to deal with drunks or pull people off the plane because of armrest drama.

Also, flight attendants can be sassy and overreach their little power.
