What is the urban obsession with Dragon Ball Z?

It's said that some of the main characters are black at heart. But the reason I love DBZ was it was a great ass story. It was like the boy version of Sailor Moon with way more action. I didn't even care I had to wait a whole day to see Goku hold his arms up. It was just that damn good. Vegeta & Piccolo are the greatest bad guys. that they became good guys and teamed up with Goku. The other bad guys were dope as hell to. Lastly, DBZ was the goat animated show because of the transformations. I still can't decide who of the series (including GT) had the best one.

Nah theres adult anime like ghost in the shell series is dope. Dbz is lame story lines that come up with new things every episode the nikka vegeta does something new or something random like his race turnjng into giant monkeys and smashing planets foh

nikka i dont rock with either of them, all I said is I grew up and thats what was piff along with fraggle rock and that hbo einstein claymation show shyt was bugged. As a grown man I haven't watched any of that in over two decades. I give a fukk about a cartoon if its not american dad or boondocks. Fall back with ya fighting cartoon.

DBZ is so timeless and influential that Toriyama's still caking off it 20 years later from people young and old. I can't think of any other cartoon that's managed to do that other than maybe Saint Seiya, Sailor Moon or Detective Conan, but even those don't have nearly the following DBZ does. That's the difference between your "was piff" shows and DBZ, which will always be piff.

Went to Tokyo last year in December and saw a detective Conan huge sign, I was surrrrprised. It's a wonderful show. Anime's have great writers btw
