It has nothing to do with athleticisim, unless you doofuses really believe in eugenics--which actually wouldn't surprise me because the Coli tends to parrot white supremacy. There are a lot of ridiculously athletic white American men. They play sports like volleyball, lacrosse, hockey and baseball. We also see a lot of white women playing basketball.

And we see white men from Europe come in and go ham in the NBA.

IMO, its down to representation and discouragement.

The old athleticism vs skills/technique debate. :ld:
It’s not even that. Middle class White boys are discouraged from playing basketball, imo.

Or were. With the suburbanization of basketball, and with the NBA‘s appeal to all young kids, I think we will see more white boys playing basketball and becoming elite nba players In the next 15-20 years—if the world still exists as it does.

It could be that they just choose to play other sports. Athleticism is a non factor - Luka & Jokic aren't the most athletic by modern definitions, and still dominate. Bird dominated against more athletic peers...Dirk. I also think that basketball in the US has the "poor" stigma attached to it, which why it isn't as popular as other sports amongst white folk

I just think the emphasis on athleticism is placed higher in America than it is Europe. And that's why people get discouraged. I've seen it growing up playing football. Players told they were too small even tho technically very good.

Fortunately for them, you need a lot of gear and ice to play hockey :mjlit:

But then again, it seems like it’s suburban brehs dominating basketball at least

This thread is great. Is Tyler Hero the best American born cac active player in the NBA?

Technically Domantas Sabonis but he moved to Europe when he was a kid. Herro is probably the best that actually grew up in the U.S.

That is true, especially since we hone in on it at a younger age.

The most accessable sport(s) will be dominated by black folks. Basketball is one of those.

My thinking is if you work on the technical skills from young and allow the athleticism to naturally progress as the human body grows and develops you'll get overall better athletes and a longer career. As the athleticism begins to decline you fall back on your skills and knowledge more and the decline is less noticable.
