your non-reading ass could have read the article where it answers all your questions. no, i'm not basing my position on articles. i'm using these articles to back up my claims.

as if i was asking you that question for an actual answer you dumb ass dropout. not all slave owners had tons of slaves. so slaves did not always outnumber the families they belonged to.

the example in the article--that it doesn't appear you read-- stated 90% of the people with the surname Washington are black. either the few white washingtons families were extremely successful slave owners or blacks got that name from an alternative method. read the damn article and stop bugging me.

:skip: so you consede defeat. Because that was the point I made. shyt, I made that in the first post directed at you.
Besides the few that made up their last name like "Freeman" after the Civil War and during Reconstruction.

After emancipation, many freedmen and women took the surnames of their former owners as their own. Some blacks in the U.S. took on the surname Freeman, while others adopted the names of popular historical or contemporary figures of social importance, such as former presidents Washington, Jefferson, and Jackson.

I dont know why you put that shyt in italics because you cant find a quote of me saying that:smugfavre: I never said they made up a random name. I said they came up with their last name if they didnt keep their slave masters surname. Reading comprehension sweetheart.

:heh: sure you're black.

You think I would care about this topic if I were a cac?:stopitslime:

:pacspit: you're acting like i hit on your boyfriend you fukkboy

Those shaming tactics dont work with me:yawn:

Listen slime, I won the argument you couldnt touch me. You came in swinging going for the early knockout like you KO'd my nikka jadillac, but he's not one of my goblins. He's not a Myrmidon.

Hey Gifted honest question: what is your reason for not claiming that heritage? Is it because you just don't feel connected to those parts of your identity? Or is just something that you don't find necessary putting out there, and why?
(As I've stated I'm mixed so obviously the question always arises with my own heritage).

My family is from Dominica and Guyana, my grandmother is lightskinned, like A shade lighter than Alicia Keys, her brother (my grand uncle was white, blonde hair and blue eyes) her dad is white, mother is carib indian, my grandmother made love to a black man, had my father, my father made love to a black woman, had me, my skin is brown, and once in a while people ask if I'm mixed, but I just say I'm black, I honestly don't feel connected because that was so far before me.
