Let's say in '96 instead of Jake Roberts coming back, what if it was somebody like Ricky Steamboat? And it was him who wrestled Stone Cold in the King Of The Ring finals. There would be no Austin 3:16 speech or anything like that.

Or let's take The Rock. When coming up with his name, instead of Rocky Maivia what if they went the other way & ran with Peter Johnson ? There's no Rock Bottom, no The Rock says, or no Rocky Sucks. What direction would his character have went?

I also wonder what happens of so many careers too. Cena, Orton, Batista, Edge even probably the next set of top guys after that never get the runs and careers they do otherwise. By proxy that changes a bunch of other careers too (Guerrero, Undertaker, JBL, etc.) so basically modern history of WWE changes, even NJPW and other companies feel the reverberation.
On a side note, even if his act did get stale for a while a few years ago, his run in the mid-late 10’s added a ton to his legacy and shows what he could’ve been if he stayed

Imagine if Farooq beat the Undertaker for the WWF title back in '97. He'd have been the first black World Champion in both major wrestling companies. When The Rock joined a few weeks later I wonder how that would've worked out.
