Darren Woodson's nodding and glancing at Herm during his rant really gets lost in all of this.:laff: The camera kept cutting back to Darren too which made it all the more hilarious.

It's not a privilege either, it's something they EARNED by being in the top 1% of their field.

I don't get how anyone can :cape: for Murray. He knew he's a N-S runner and took the money to sign on with a team that employs a more E-W running style. I don't care how many plays Chip drew up during free agency that fell into DeMarco's wheelhouse to entice him, dude signed on with a coach who wouldn't know a standard I or Pro formation from a can of paint. There's tons of teams that would have fit Murrray's style but the square peg jumped into the round hole that was stuffed with cash and now realizes "Hmm... this ain't working out." And a casual observer of Eagle games can tell you it's not working out. My dead grandparents who never saw 1 game of football in their lives can tell you it's not working out.

This system has been Kelly's baby since the late 90s at UNH but he's gonna change it for a back who's only chance at the HOF is with a paid ticket? :mjlol: Pride truly does go before the fall.

If this was a situation where he was beasting off with his touches and was the clear cut best back on the roster for their system, he'd be validated. But he's not. He got his money, but he probably saw that big payday as his trump card to playing time without realizing they have better backs for their system. But since HE picked finances over a better professional situation, he needs to pipe down with the complaints. He got his desired cake, now enjoy it regardless of how well it came out the oven.

You don't pick out a bed-sheet made of barb wire then bytch & moan to the chamber-maid because you woke up bleeding :aicmon:

Darren had the "oh..he c00ning...okay" look on his face the whole time :mjlol:

I have the exact look on my face when I have to meet with potential customers and they have the one black guy in the group and that one black guy be busting out all outrageous like "tell us how this helps OUR bottom line" or "tell is how this technology drives US to be a market leader"

Lol it's a privilege no matter how you look at it. At the end of the day they're playing a sport that makes more money than surgeons, and engineers.

It's a job though. Where does the privilege come in?
Idk how else to explain it to you but playing a SPORT for millions of dollars is a privileged lifestyle. At the end of the day they are playing with a ball.

You're an idiot

This privilege, on average, lasts 3 years. The league minimum is $435k (for a rookie, with slight upticks with more seniority).

Only the best players who can sustain decently long careers can make enough money to sustain that lifestyle into their non-playing days. For the VAST majority of players who have come in and out of the NFL, their NFL money is gone and they have to find new ways to support themselves and their families. This "millionaire lifestyle" is not for all players, and even for those that do enjoy that, it's usually short-lived.

Of course Demarco Murray and Shady McCoy are good enough to make great money and, if they are smart, it'll support them for a long time. BUT 1) they might not be smart, and 2) this isn't just about those guys. If you're taking the stance "stop putting yourself above the team" then surely that goes for all 53 players plus the practice squad, not just Demarco Murray and Shady McCoy. And most of the guys on the rosters of most teams are not going to make it much longer in the league, and they won't be making NEAR Murray or McCoy money. If they felt THEIR earning power was being sabotaged by bad coaching, surely no one would complain if they wanted their shot.

Also - if you're going to make these comparisons to regular people on some "we would all kill for the privilege to carry a ball for millions of dollars a year" shyt, then, wouldn't you want to maximize your own earning potential while you can? If you felt like the best sales rep in your company, and you're paid on commission but your boss is always sending other guys out in your region sharking sales from you, aren't you going to say something? What, it's okay because you're not a "millionaire getting paid to play a game" but they just need to shut up? Even though Murray and McCoy are currently in the prime of their earning potential hoping to maximize that as best they can, because it is THEIR lives and THEIR money and they want to make the most they possibly can, they just need to STFU because you're jealous of their lives? I'm sure poor or homeless or starving people would kick their own mothers in the face to have your $50k a year job too, but they ain't gonna be mad at you if you want to secure the best future for yourself and your family while you are at your peak earning years.

This conversation is annoying as fukk. As if a football paycheck is just gonna last forever or some shyt, like most of these guys aren't making significantly less than the "millions" you fantasize about, and for a very short time.

1.Im not reading that. Anyone who has that much time on their hands to type shyt that long to a stranger needs to go outside. 2. Hate to say it but surgeons, engineers, and teachers deserve that money more. Don't get me wrong I love watching sports but that's exactly what it is. Anyone who fails to see a sport for what it is needs to reevaluate life.
