Shame it left him in the finals. Once that was gone he had no counter in his game for the zone. :mjcry:
Yep.

That zone was so effective because they could key in on LeBron and not have to worry about him killing them with his passing. Outside of the Big 3, the Heat had no shooters. Not even one-dimensional Kyle Korver type guys.

They also had a lot of perimeter defenders to throw at people (Stevenson, Marion, Kidd) with prime Tyson Chandler in the middle.

Rick Carlisle outcoached the hell out of Spoelstra.

However, Spoelstra is 10 times the coach he was then.

He was this way last year for Toronto.

Spurs fans would joke that Danny Green ain't done shyt since 2013

and seeing him last year i understood. I'm borderline surprised when he makes a 3, even tho he's a deadeye shooter

Yep. Spo was wide eyed as hell and just hoped LeBron could figure that shyt out himself. So many mins wasted playing Joel Anthony and Mike Bibby.

He's a much better coach now.

Bron did too by setting the tone.....the way he played in the first half sets the stage for role players like Rondo to come up big in the 2nd half. All that shyt is connected
If anything Rondo sealed the game/blew it open but Bron enabled it; none of the 4th qtr stuff is possible otherwise. HOU did what they were supposed to do in the first half but Bron essentially kept delivering body blows and Rockets got gassed in the 3rd and 4th with no big lead to show for their efforts.

Really both teams seemed gassed but then Rondo became the spark plug.
