YALL KNOW HOW THE ROCKETS
USED TO HANDLE THIS TYPE OF DEFENSE?

A LOB TO CAPELA
AFTER DRAWING THE DEFENDER
IN THE PAINT.

Yeahhhhhh but that shyt didn’t work come playoff time.. Warriors use to blow that shyt up and make Capela useless... Rockets fukked up trading CP3..

That stretch in the 4th where Rondo made back-to-back wide open 3s (left open by design) and then pick-pocketed Harden for a layup, that was ball game. Turned a 1 possession game to a double digit lead. Everything after that Rockets were deflated and Lakers became inspired. The balding cac even hit a 3.

The first half was a game changer, HOU was great but couldn't get a cushion because Lebron couldn't miss + some 50/50 bang bang plays that didn't go there way.. i.e. fumbling defensive rebounds and getting blocking calls instead of charges.

Game 4 they have to play with that same energy and precision in the 1st half and win more of those 50/50s. Can't do anything about Rondo making 3s. But Rockets should start their offense sooner. It takes a good 10+ seconds of dribble drives and swing passes to find that wide open person because of how quick LA rotates, so you can't bullshyt around until half the shot clock is gone until you start trying to do something.
Notice how Rondo numba 9 out the clamps on Harden in game 2 picking his pockets for an open layup. He knows Rondo right hand is weak so he always hedge his left hand knowing Harden will try to go left for his set up dribble...

I don't know why cats are bringing up Capela.

He didn't fit the direction that the Rockets were headed in (RoCo is infinitely more valuable to them); ended up being unplayable down the stretch of playoff games; and the Rockets couldn't play him in any meaningful lineups with Russ, due to the spacing dilemma.

Bron did too by setting the tone.....the way he played in the first half sets the stage for role players like Rondo to come up big in the 2nd half. All that shyt is connected
just had to give Rondo his shine

Dropping 30 in a half is goat shyt, but we been knew about playoff Bron

my goat been doing it since 2006 :mjcry:

I say that all the time. Miami had the best infrastructure he walked into.

However, the way they were playing defense 6 years ago he was going to be washed like Wade by the time he was 35.

Yep all this. They were basically gonna run him into the ground like a great running back getting 300 plus carries a year and catching 50 catches a year. Dude was gonna be ladainian tomlison 30 years old and a shell of himself.

That series against the Bulls in 2011, he was a killer in the mid-range.

Check out Game 2.

Yep and that playoff series vs the knicks in 2012 or 2013 I can't remeber. Dude was killing them with fade aways and turn around jumpers. His jumper would fade as the rounds progress because the heat relied so much on him being a defensive stopper, rebounder and help defender. IMO he would get tired legs by the eastern conference finals and finals. I believe 2014 was the only playoff run when his jumper was on the entire playoff run with miami.

But he was an unbeliever mid range shooter in miami. It also helps that they had proper spacing and unlike with the cavs (both runs). The players on the heat could actually hit lebron with passes in the post, on the run, and on the corner. So lebron could actually play off the ball. In Cleveland you didn't trust any of those dudes to actually make an accurate pass unless it was love (especially on TD passes) or delly.
