Wtf are yall talking about. Where should he be that he isn't? I don't even like this dudes music but not everybody who isn't on the Hot100 and on TV every day like MJ in 1984, has "disappeared." And spending 100k on an artist and making back 200k is the same as spending 900k on him and making back a million
what did yall expect him to do? first week sales are important for big artists, but not the end all be all, especially for newer cats.
you think an artist releases an album that doesnt sell well and they just quit music forever and go on indeed.com?
a simple google search shows hes touring Europe and Australia in feb/march of this year. this is called 'touring the album.' if people dont know you, doing shows gets more people aware of you in real life (something coli brehs aint familiar with)
hes rocking shows with asap rocky and caclemore, so there will be big crowds of people to learn about him.
then he will prolly come back and start working on new music release later in 2016 or 2017.
but this whole post gonna fall on deaf coli ears cuz IRL Logic <<<<< Coli Logic
They should market him properly. We don't know what Raury is. A rapper? A singer? A folk singer? The talent is there, but I think he will have to build a strong following and an own identity, then it could be something
i mean, hes like 19. i think its safe to assume theres plenty of time for that in the label's mind, and thats most likely whats happening right now, while the coli is busy eulogizing his career and making 6 new 50 cent and ja rule threads per day
It seems like the label pushed him too hard too fast, first time I saw him was on the xxl cover, i didn't know anything about this kid and he isn't that great imo for him to be pushed like he was.
He just released an album, he's probably in the studio these days cooking. Hopefully he can get some singles to pop off on his next jawn or he might be thrown to the bushes.
people releasing shyt left and right is why the game is so watered down as it is. artist overexpose themselves trying to just get that one hit single like it fukkin matters instead of taking time to work on a full fleshed out project. ask quan how that's working out for him. not even futureand thug can sell records and they are supposed to be the hottest dudes out right now.
DS2 has slightly surpassed expectations, moving 147,000 equivalent units this week. Proving he is truly an album artist, a respectable 121,000 copies of the album were bought traditionally, making the rapper's semi-surprise album a huge success, landing him his first number one and his biggest sales week yet.

his label was rookies, they didn't know how to handle his personality which is pretty "anti" industry. for example he had a gig at some fashion show i can't remember and he did a protest on the runway lol. not wanting to make typical "hits" type of music, he's crossing trump out on late night shows, etc.
then 6lack comes along and they are trying to blow up (of course, its music BUSINESS after all) so they focus more on 6lack and part ways with raury.
basic industry/label issue. but he still puts out stuff and has his shows and events. think he had a kid recently
