After week one we see these decent teams like sea, nyg, hou, ari with these horrible o-lines. What happend with evaluating these positions?

Where is this generations walter jones, orlando pace, jonathan ogden, joe thomas, tony bosselli, or Larry Allen?

Players like Greg robinson, joekel, eric fisher, jason smith, flowers type of players are drafted just on potential and measurables have been busting so frequently. There are some good young players and elite units like Dallas, but I don't see any future hall of famers. Maybe Jason Peters and probably Joe Thomas.

They spend money on everything else.

I want the league to get back to having lots of very good to great featured backs like the early 00s

Priest Holmes
LaDainian Tomlinson
Ricky Williams
Curtis Martin
Jamal Lewis
Marshall Faulk
Clinton Portis
Edgerrin James
Travis Henry
Ahman Green
Stephen Davis
Deuce McAllister
Shaun Alexander
Fred Taylor

:wow:

Those were before the days of "quarterback driven league" where a team could be elite off the strength of their running back, and more running backs were the faces of their franchises.

Fat nikkas are getting a little better shape and are doing more shyt. Jake Long was the last one to come out and get that monster contract and like was said previously, the line had been devalued in a sense so you got obvious specimens like Big Baby Miller and Deontay Wilder say fukk getting CTE and hopped up into boxing. NFL really ain't what's hot in these streets no more for these new nikkas.

there are still good olinemen. they just need more longevity to be considered HoF caliber.

also, the league becoming a passing league means guards have less of a lifespan. larry allen played till he was 36 and he was a pro-bowler at 35. doesnt happen as much anymore as interior line being old means pass rushers finding weak spots and killing the pocket from the inside. being a guard in the NFL is a thankless job, as even if you are elite you wont get name recognition but you'll get recycled the moment you become :flabbynsick:

the thirst for skill position (qb, cb, wr) have made a lot of names less recognizable. Tyron Smith should be a name correlated by many to someone on the path to HoF, but it really isnt because of name magic. marshal yanda has 5 pro bowls and 2 all pros, but I bet half of the casual fans, maybe more have no clue who he is.

Breh, Larry Allen, for all extents and purposes, is easily one of the most impressive physical talents ever in any sport.

If this play happens to me in any football game not named NFL Blitz, I'm trading it in to get my money because it's not real. In any era, Larry Allen is getting paid.

I mean, sure, Larry Allen is probably THE gold standard for guards. however, in todays game I can see teams moving him to tackle permanently because they value pass pro so much more than run blocking.

very few lines are tailored for the run nowadays, and thats a side effect of the passing thirst, obviously;
