I don’t understand why people clown Wale. Everybody can’t be Drake and stay hot for a decade plus. He had decent run, but his time is done being a major player, it happens to everybody. But with that said he still has had a better career than most of his peers. A lot of people’s careers would have been over after that song with Gaga flopped.

Cudi’s probably the only dude from the XXL Freshman list that has been more successful than him.

Amazing that someone with such a knack for songwriting and melody can't make it in this era. I think the problem is he thinks he should be as big as Drake/Cole/Kendrick and can't mentally deal with not being able to get to that level. Gotta feel some type of way knowing Cole used to open up shows for you, and now you're nobody while he's bigger than ever.

I always tell people women don't control music. They don't buy hip hop. So when you make music geared MOSLTY towards females, it's gonna flop. You from the DMV. Why not use that to your advantage? He should have stuck with the go go sound he started out with. I liked that song Chillin with Gaga. Wale should have came out with a live album backed by a go go band. Just something different.

Live Albums from rappers don't fare very well at all.

But FWIW, Wale could've done this with Backyard,Rare Essence, NE Groovers and UCB.... it would've went over very well
