My thought process was simple.

I began working out prior to my 12th grade school.

I did exceptionally well in my chemistry class(120% / 100% every test, finished in 3-5 minutes) and grew fascinated with trying to understand all the ingredients that go into many fitness products.

I would always bring my chemistry teacher various products (protein bars, shakes, creatine) to dissect the information for me.

Funny thing is, he always had something negative say about every product....

I always thought being able to understand the biochemistry the occurs in the body through the consumption of food was pretty cool....

Honestly, I could care less about landing a job after college. I'll be straight. I just need the knowledge....

Pretty much the same experience I had. Science was always easy. I would get C's and D's in other classes and would A or B the biology, chemistry and physics. I never really studied. We were allowed study sheets to take in my College prep physics class. I forgot to make one didnt need that bytch. The cac with near perfect grade for the class was :ohhh: when the fukk up got a higher grade them him :win:

Got into college, majored in Biology and hated it. The work, the teachers, the tediousness of it and I was/am a lazy fukk.....I switched 2 1/2 years in. top 5 dumbest thing I ever did. I had some Indian guy offer me a job in his lab when I randomly had a convo with him last Friday. He told me if I had graduated with a B.S., he would have got me a job. Selling rock/Military is always an option though:to:

I feel ya breh. I probably would have dropped out of college myself, had I taken the combination of calculus, chemistry and biology in my first semester of college. The thought of that within itself seems like a death threat to an 18 year old, who doesn't see the big picture ahead. I didn't develop good study habits until recently.

Around the first of July, I'm going start prepping for organic chem. Since everyone swears that's a death sentence.....

With that said, there's no need for you to get your "Breaking Bad" on. :whoo:

You still go back get a post-baccalaureate in a BS.

Make it happen breh......

in high school i was b student. math and history was always easy to me but i never cared for anything in school, i had NO INTENTION ever on going to college until about 3 months before graduating. all a nikkka ever wanted to do was box and if i couldnt do something in the sports indusrty, fukk everything else (fukk being a doctor, engineer, chemistry and all that other bullshyt that aint for me). i caught a serious staph on my leg so the boxing shyt was put on hold. shyt got SERIOUS to the point where alot of people was getting in my ear about i wasnt going be shyt without a college degree. i thought about it and first took the SAT, i bombed that shyt wit a 720 :takedat: i sent out about 5 applications, one which happened to be johnson and wales. they didnt require a SAT score or application fee, i got accepted by them and they gave me a whole lot of financial aid. tuition was 30K they offered me 26K in aid. :win:

so i yeah got a degree in sport management :manny: i regret it though :to:

I was very smart but unmotivated in high school. I picked what would take the least amount of mental effort so I could coast with good grades and maintain my full academic scholarship AKA Business. To this day I still don't know what I would have picked if I had chosen more wisely :sadbron:

But I got a job straight outta graduation and have $0 in debt so :manny:

changed my major two times and just wanted to get out of school at that point so i bumped my minor up to my major. the longer i stayed in college, the more i was hating it. plus, i always felt like i didnt need a piece of paper to make money.

i was close to dropping out to pursue my goal but stuck it out for my family since i was 1 year away from graduating.

I majored in Government because I figured it'd be easy since I've always scored high on verbal aptitude tests (80 or 90 percentile) since I was a kid, but I'm really interested in working in business. I was kind of a bytch about my major because I could have majored in business instead, but it would have been harder for me cause I'm mediocre at math. On the other hand, anything that involves reading and writing is cake for me :manny:.

I was planning to go to law school after I graduated then I started researching the job market for law grads, saw how bad it was, and reconsidered. Talked to some lawyers and most of them told me they wouldn't do law again if they could go back in time. Shadowed some associates at a law firm and became even more convinced that law isn't for me.

I've been out of school for about 2 years getting some work experience and improving my math. Khan Academy is a god send. I've spent the last two years heavy on that website. Got my math skills up to where I'm more comfortable than I was before. Used to almost get a heart attack looking at a math problem. Took the GMAT in May, got a good score, and I'm going to business school this Fall to try and break into consulting.

I don't regret majoring in Government though. I learned a lot and my writing is a lot better as a result of it being my major. I laugh when people try to shyt on the Liberal Arts. If you wanna learn soft skills, how to think critically, and how to persuade people, there's no better training for that than a Liberal Arts degree.

Honestly, I don't think anyone here means to intentionally knock any of the "Liberal Arts" degrees. I think they are very valuable and useful. In life people should be as well rounded as possible.

My beef is with people who major in a highly saturated degree( easy ) then get frustrated from the lack of job prospects, they're quick to throw education under the bus. When anyone can clearly see that all sectors in America are being effected by this economic downturn.

My mom hires people all the time and her biggest complaint is people who suck at writing (me for example).

I feel like if the rest of society felt like this the entire world would probably be a much better place.

If your only goal is to pursue capital then there are probably better ways to do that than going to college. However since College is a money making scheme and is big business for institutions you can't get mad at people who only attend for financial reasons. We live in a capitalist country where money talks louder than anything else and bills need to be paid. Which I think distracts us from whats really important

Idk, from what I've seen, there's a whole world, galaxy, heliosphere, super clusters out there. Tons of opportunities. "Being rich" or being content with a certain salary is nothing I want in the near future.

You think differently when you're hungry to succeed.

And like many goals I've accomplished in life, the satisfaction is only short lived. At a young age, I've already accomplished a majority of my goals that I set out to do as a youngster

Go to Africa ✔
Go to Asia ✔
Go to Europe ✔
Smash a series of dimes ✔
Buy a sh*tload of nikes ✔
Get ripped ✔
etc.....

To only end up questioning what to do next. This often leads into a downward spiral of depression, until I create some new long term and short term goals.
