Houston
Pretty much. I remember here in Houston he used to have a bunch of shows downtown at HOBs and them shyts was packed with white kids. I seriously thought he was some kind of alternative rock black guy b/c he use to crowd surf and have mosh pits at his shows but when he starts to really blow they go with the super convenient Houston rapper story of him liking Screw being from a known Houston hood (where no one actually remembers him).
Bun B friendly ass gives him the cosign and all these Houston rappers fall in line and keep their mouth shut except for a few (BeatKing but even he quieted down quickly). I'm about to go on a rant but this is what I hate about my city and why I hate that a lot of the real rappers who wouldn't allow this shyt are dead or been banned from speaking the real shyt (Trae) Pimp C mainly. nikkas be using the Houston stimulus package to blow up and never really show any love to the city and I'm placing most of the blame on Bun B. He rolls out the welcome mat for nikkas to come to Houston use our style blow up off of it and dip. Hell I use to see Drake down here more than I've ever seen Travis. I really don't even think this cat is from here. Cats in the city don't stand for anything anymore. All the real ones locked up, dead, banned, or too busy hating on one another to make a real difference.

Why would Bun not do that? He from Port Arthur but claims Houston and aligned himself with Houston people. He benefited from the Houston stimulus package himself. Matter of fact so did Drake and Rocky. Both them MFs came out sounding like they’re from Houston or referencing it, shyt like or Rocky wearing golds and Purple Swag and shyt.

Texas and Houston is so big people from other areas just lump all of it together and are none the wiser for it.

Truly one of the biggest frauds in the game. Steals beats, doesn’t write. Stole his whole flow and melodies from Cudi. He’s literally the rap equivalent of a socialite. And I still have never met a living fan of his. Granted I don’t know to many white people now who I’m friendly with

Sounds like a modern day Milli Vanilli. The saddest part of all this is that nobody appears to care, and as a result Travis is still making money and recently purchased a new $23.5M home. All this based on the idea that his entire existence in the music industry is a lie...unbelievable.

I mean aside from the Pick Up The Phone thing, I thing most people are hating on him tbh. I think it's because he uses so many producers and writers, (he had Wale write Apple Pie and is credited as a writer) I feel like if Kanye came up during this time he would have the same issue. The internet allows people to complain

I think Travis has a reputation of being a snake and people don’t like to see snakes win. So anytime someone’s has an opportunity to be outed people jump at it

Its simple

Don't your the best at what you do

When your a bystander while your album gets made for you

Dre
Diddy
Biz Markie
ODB
Pete rock

Never ever said they top 5 or anything

Scarface said there is nothing wrong with ghostwriting

Vlad asked him if he ever got anything ghostwritten for him

His entire demeanor changed

Scarface got upset on some

"Dont you ever ask me that shyt ...all that was my damn pen"

That explains it all

Face has did his share of ghosting:ehh:. Wont let anyone write for him though :myman:

Labels figured out a long time ago that image sells more than talent, everyone has fallen in line now. Milli Vanilli coming out today would have never been exposed.

I've never understood or bought into the Travis hype. Music or sneakers.

:yeshrug:

There was always something inauthentic about it. People throw around the term "plant" for a lot of people, but he always felt like a real plant.

Every step of his success felt 5 steps too big for the moment. He was "bubbling" before he was really "bubbling", he was "major" before he'd done anything major, and he was an "influencer" before he had a chance to actually be influential.

Plus the fact that most of his fans and custies are teenage white kids let me know that he was a product of good marketing. Nobody falls for marketing harder and has more disposable income than the kids of middle and upper middle class white people.

Nah he was bubbling organically. His hype started from the KTT crowd. He didn’t come from no where

I don't even really check for him or his music, but I said this years back, about both him and Kanye. I could do that.
