it was an exhibition game first off

second off, the dream were playing team that were semi-professional

they played fukking angola and lithuania when they had sabonis and sh!t

You have to understand that a ton of the opinion leaders (sports writers, analysts, etc) were kids or at least younger when the dream team played. That nostalgia too strong. If you notice 80s-90s sports always get overrated, not just bball but other sports as well.

It's irrelevant which team is actually better cause there's never gonna be am objective comparison between the two.

Why do people always cling to the "the competition is better now" life boat? If you watch these games, this teams issues have absolutely nothing to do with the other team. They can't consistently knock down an open J or rebound. It's not like these teams have a Westbrook type athlete the USA "now has to deal with unlike the Dream Team". Luis Scola isn't an impact player no matter what era you put him in. Yet he anchored a team that outscored the USA 64-55 over the last three qtrs. That's not the "world catching up to us". That's simply, "this team can't consistently hit jumpshots or rebound and get 2nd chance points". This Olympics comes down to "we have KD, and you don't".
