Given the competition, its clear that a US gold medal is almost guaranteed but that doesn't seem like enough.

What needs to go happen at the London Olympics for the comparisons to be legitimate?

During the USA vs. Dominican Republic or Brazil they brought up a statistic that indicated the 92 Dream Team beat teams by an average of 40 sumthing plus points.

Clearly, that is not possible as:

1. The game of basketball is more competitive
2. Players are more physically built than they were in the 90s
3. A lot more foreign nationals in the NBA (compared to 92)
4. 2012 team have to play teams with NBA players like Spain and Brazil instead of Lithuania and Angola

So are we going to live in nostaglia or are we going to admit that
