I ended randomly seeing this at a Landmark Theather, it was decent.

It's basically the struggle off Black Artist who don't make atypical "Black" art

Or just bougie nikkas looking down at the chitlin circuit

Pretension in the publishing industry
White liberals
Commercialisation of Black pathology
Substance abuse
Family struggles

not the chillin circuit, but underclass folks.

The problem is the bougie sista also co-opted the stories of the underclass.


I just got Erasure, and ita a much different than the movie.

I watched this yesterday actually. I think I got most of this
It's a lot deeper than that. The movie touches on:

and tbh it was perhaps more serious a film than I anticipated from watching the trailer. The end lost me a little though, I'm going to have to read about that. I think Sintara had a good point near the end too :jbhmm:

Oh and the soundtrack was lovely.
