Tebow completely humbled himself (he was pretty humble all along), dude was begging for a job. Completely changed his mechanics. Rex Ryan didn't give him a shot either, like I said he attempted 8 passes with the Jets, and no one wanted him because the media storm that came with him was nowhere near worth a borderline 3rd string QB. Almost no one hyped Tebow up on the NFL level, disproving your point about no one criticizing Tebow's intellectual ability, they questioned every aspect of his game, that's why he led the Bronco's to the playoffs, won an amazing playoff OT game and was out of the league less than 2 years later.

Tebow had offers from teams to play FB or TE but turned them down and told his agent he'd only play QB. Real humble. We know how that turned out for him. He wanted that QB endorsement money and fame.

Or maybe dude just figured he played QB his whole life and that was the only position he wanted to play. Why would he change positions to be a backup FB or TE and risk getting injured and destroying his body when he could make the same money if not more as an analyst?

But he didn't play QB his whole life. He was a middle linebacker until like his junior year of high school.

And do I have to explain why your injury theory makes no sense while talking about going from a mobile QB to a FB or TE?

Dude wanted to play QB, a mobile QB isn't taking anywhere near the beating a FB or TE takes on a regular basis, so it makes perfect sense. Anyone on the field is liable to get injured, but QB is the only position that isn't guaranteed to take some kind of punishment on every play. Plus this has nothing to do with the thread premise, I brought Tebow up cause you said he was never criticized for his mental shortcomings but he was.

Y'all are stupid.

Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow can't read a defense. Stafford can't read a defense. RG3 can't read a defense. Kaep is terrible at going through his options on a play and usually looks at this first read and then tries scrambling. It is not a black or white thing, there are QBs that just straight up suck at playing from the pocket and making the right play.

Being "intelligent in the pocket" means you can survey the field and read what the defense is doing and go through your progressions. It is does exist and Young even complimented Cam with it by saying he's gotten better at it, yet you want to find it racist because it implies he wasn't good at it before even though that's pretty much accurate. He's gotten better from the pocket this year compared to years past and gotten better at finding holes in the defense.

Heard steve young giving an interview talking about being a quaterback who can run, He said: "I was focused on being an intellectual threat from the pocket"... :dahell: I've never heard dude talk about Qbs that way. He aint the only one. I"ve heard a lot of "beating them with his mind" comment over the past few months too.

nikkas go for that extra vocabulary when it involves black quaterbacks.I mean do you not use your brain when playing quaterback, better yet football??

dude also said this:

what does this even mean?? :russ:

There is a s-hit ton of information for qb's to process in a very short time. Young is talking about efficiency.

Young is talking about reading defenses and making the appropriate adjustment in the pocket.

But I'm going to let y'all cook. The Coli wouldn't be nearly as entertaining if we were logical 100% of the time.

The term itself is stupid. It's what's expected from a QB and terms like that have been used to shade black QBs and praise mediocre white QBs who all have brain damage and walk with canes because they were "beating defenses with their minds"

There's tons of one read QBs black and white because offenses have gotten simpler. That's why we see shytty QBs forcing balls in double/triple coverage, overthrowing the deep route guy, or getting killed in the pocket cause the aren't mobile.

no , im talking about the redundancy in saying intellectual + "from the pocket" in the same sentence. Before "from the pocket" meant reading defenses, going through progressions and making proper adjustment. They use to explicitly say "from the pocket" to make the distinction between a QB that is mobile and one that isn't. I'm saying now there is added emphasis on "intellectual" + "beating defense with your mind" bullshyt.

Bingo. And these clowns eat it up. You'd think only black QB's function in simplified offenses. A running QB runs because he can't read the D. A non-mobile pocket passing QB is automatically more intelligent. What?

Mobile QB's can't read defenses (black). Drop back pocket QB's can read defenses (white).

go follow @awfulwhiteqbs on twitter breh...talks about the bullshyt everyday....theres mad "code words" for what traditionally has been segregated postion...the "cant read a defense" is still used like a fox news storyline, everyday...

white people are so stupid, man.

they act like reading nfl defenses is brain surgery :mjlol:

they scared more Cam Newtons on the way. there's a black Aaron Rodgers out here somewhere waiting to go pro.

we can toss the ball just as hard as they do, except, we're faster, stronger and more agile.

I don't think he is insinuating anything bad although that word usage is suspect. Cam has defintely gotten better in this aspect of being a QB. Same with Russell. These two are killing the game passing and running which is scary for a lot of cacs who don't want to see black QBs flourish on top for long.
