It's an interesting thing to think about because there are a lot of factors that could go either way:
1. All of his boys and his girl are at AEW, he'll definitely be a focal point and top heel. But he's also already that in NXT, but there's no guarantee he'll get that treatment if he gets called up.
2. Surely AEW will give him more money than what he currently gets in NXT, but who knows what WWE might offer if/when they call him up.
3. He's HHH's AND HBK's boy, he has HBK as an agent for all of his matches. AEW will never be able to offer him working directly and under the tutelage of his idol.
4. He and the rest of UE have been spinning their wheels in NXT for a long time even before COVID shyt changed plans. They could get called up at any time and could get pushed just as hard/well or get thrown in the bushes within a month.
I think he probably stays with WWE and specifically NXT, especially if they give him a pay bump. He'll eventually end up in AEW for sure, though.

Rollins has been at his creative mercy too and dude has gotten push after push for 6 years now.
Hell, even a guy like Owens who has had a lot more "stop and go" pushes, still has gotten important runs. I believe Cole is on that level of "protection" from La Nariz, which is bigger than guys like Nakamura or Balor.
Cole could sign a good 3 year deal, get 1 big push and coast till that deal is over and then jump ship. It would probably work better for him in the long run as AEW will pay more for him if he has main roster run in WWE than if he doesn't.
I mean, if dude wants to leave of course he should leave. But as of right now and seeing how he's treated, I don't think he would want to depart WWE
Right now there's no reason to leave. The only people who seem to leave WWE for AEW are the ones who have had to deal with Vince's bullshyt for multiple years.
He's not had that yet so why not bet on himself to come to the main roster and be booked strong. Now, how likely that is I'm not sure. I guess he could be like an AJ Styles, someone who Vince just takes a liking to, but it's probably as likely if not more that he'll be part of the long list of NXT stars who get lost in the shuffle on the main roster. People keep mentioning that he's HHH's golden boy, but that shyt doesn't really mean anything when he's called up to the main roster where plenty of other HHH projects have been buried. I almost feel like Vince does it on purpose. Most of the biggest stars to come out of NXT didn't do shyt when they were actually in NXT. So doesn't really matter how strongly booked he is on NXT, it's a roll of the dice that Vince like's him.

Because I feel like he was a better pick up than Adam Page two years ago, but Page has improved a ton as a wrestler and a character since he was doing the goofy Joey Ryan storyline at 'All In'
I hope he stays in WWE. I'll admit that I don't 'get' him, but I've seen people on here say he's some sort of generational talent. Maybe Vince can make the most of it.
His girl basically doing the 'Karen' gimmick in AEW is hilarious though.

for a company to act like they have someone in his exact era.
on his level and platoon him in nxt.
