Find that quote of mine. You don't have to live in the hood to serve the hood. Also, the world is not straight ghetto neighborhoods or straight white suburbs. There is a lot in between.

If that is what he surrounds himself with because he hasn't bettered himself then that says a lot about him. The world is not his backyard. Also, he hasn't answered the question so I don't even know if he lives in the hood.

oh yeah, how? by "mentoring" for 2-3 hours then driving back to the burbs. while the youth you mentored goes back into his toxic environment?
