As far as the whole DC vs Marvel thing, "The Dark Knight" is better than any MCU movie but "TDKR" is easily as bad as whatever you consider the worst MCU movie.

For me it's "Ironman 3". If I never seen either of those movies again it would be too soon.

I'm not familiar enough with who stans what on here to know sides but it's like people can't give both sides credit, and criticism.

They were in Tony's vision in age of Ultron and could show up in infinity war if the theory of that vision being the future turns out to be true.

Also they were in "Guardians Of The Galaxy". The guy that set up the invasion in the first place is who Ronan killed. Not sure how people missed either of those but :yeshrug:

Nah. Your opinion is your opinion but I find it difficult to believe most people would consider TDKR to be on the same level as Iron Man 2, 3, Avengers 2, etc.

Bane alone > those movies

Also guys off topic, but I really didn't want to make another thread for this. I saw Interstellar for 10 bucks and grabbed it. It's the only Nolan movie in recent time I've yet to see, and I love all the other ones I've watched. Coming from someone who loved Prestige, Inception, and TDKT, do you think I'll like this movie?

A single character isn't enough to validate a damn near 3 hour movie. C'mon son. I liked the character but the second half of the movie and how he died were :snoop: as hell.

Bane isn't the only thing I liked about the movie. Even as a total package, I don't see how on this or any other planet that Iron Man 2 is seen in the same light as The Dark Knight Rises. TDKR had more quality elements than a movie like that. I feel you are reaching on extreme levels but to each their own I guess.

Did you not notice the gaping plot holes everyone has posted the last 7 pages? :dwillhuh:

I don't know how anybody can watch something like the police scenes....where Bane lured the entire city's police force into the sewers....or the stock exchange scene....or Bruce Wayne, a world famous international figure faking his death so he can appear half way around the world in broad day light....or hell, Talia in general....and think "yeah, this is high quality stuff".

"Ironman 2" was just a bad movie. "TDKR" was the last movie in a trilogy that was supposed to elevate comic book movies....after "The Dark Knight", one of the best movies of all time....and it failed on virtually every level.

I only saw that one. The rest are people complaining about Bane's death, Batman retiring, Talia or Robin; no plot hole talk.

That one is enough to sink the movie. A decent chunk of events are hinged on Bruce being broke.

Let's not even get into what constitutes a plot hole. A bunch of stuff in the movie flat out makes no sense.

The character does what he does because he saw his parents gunned down. Dude giving up because a girl he had a crush on died is against everything the character stands for. You ain't even gotta be a comic book fan to know that.

Hell, while I'm on the subject of Batman, him admitting his secret identity to Blake, a complete stranger, was a top 5 WOAT comic book movie scene.
Bruce, a world famous billionaire faking his death then showing up in broad day light in public like :youngsabo:was awful too.

Another obvious one is the bat symbol on the bridge when he came back to Gotham. No, "he did it before just in case" doesn't make any sense, he took 8 years off.

The entire police force gets trapped underground. That's some 80's cartoon shyt. :martin:

Bane's death. :snoop:

The broken back/rope thing. I'll even completely ignore that one.

I don't expect to make any headway with this discussion because people are just going to hand wave away any criticism with "prep time!", when they actually showed Batman preparing in the first two movies.

So yeah....it's an aggressively bad movie. The fact that it's directed by Nolan, and follows "The Dark Knight" is one of the most :dahell: things in movie history.

There's a thing in comic books called Elseworld tales which is different takes on heroes. That's what sums up this Batman universe, and every non-Nolan Batman movie before that.

I mean it's not even confirmed he broke his back. I'm not big on back injuries, but I'm sure there's an injury that can happen where you're in severe pain without having a broken back. :manny:
