wait so you feel the straight arm is better for scratching?....so now I got two different opinions on that:patrice:

I remember reading when researching which turntable to purchase that the S arm is better for scratching, but if @DJ Dope-Needlz has a 2nd opinion on it, it's going to boil down to personal research and besides, lol how can I beat the word of a user name "DJ Dope-Needlz"? lol.

even online many people seem to disagree. but all the ones I've been interested in have curved arms, so fukk it. and the technics 1200 seem to be the standard and they have curved arms:yeshrug:

Technics 1200 (the OG Technics 1200) is durable as fukk and was/is the goto equipment for DJ's. from what I've saw online (I was looking for a Technics 1200 hard!) the main thing was the direct-drive on it and it's durability.

Technics are great but the OEM Turntables are better actually.
Those are turntables made by different brands but basically the same turntable.

It is common knowledge that Straight Tone-Arms are better for scratching.
The Stanton STR-150 is the best turntable for scratching simply cause it has a strong motor and straight tone-arm. (The STR-150 is a OEM as well)

For scratching you need good elements/needles.
I would recommend the DJ Q-Bert Concorde Needles over the Shure M44-7's cause they have better soundquality. (They are really loud and clear sounding)

I'm not that much of a DJ though. I find it just a funny name.
But i did a lot of research before i bought my Turntables + Mixer years ago.
Although i have forgotten most information i knew about it by now.

But 1 thing i surely remember is that Straight Tone-Arms where better for scratching but it doesn't make a HUGE difference i think. Just slightly better for scratching.

I'll take ya word for it, I remember reading S arm's gave better results. but the scratching I attempted in the past wasn't on no Bobby type shyt so it held me down lol.

As i remember is that S Tone-Arms are better for your Vinyl/Records and Straight Tone-Arms will wear your records out more. But i never played records like that though...

I find making beats more fun than DJ-ing so i basically started focusing more on making beats.

yeah, all OEM's are good for scratching though.
But the STR-150 are slightly better because they are Heavier and have a Straight Tone-Arm.
If you wanted a S-Tone-Arm turntable you better NOT buy the Stanton cause there are cheaper OEM's out there like these:

Synq XTRM1

I basically bought the Stanton for it's Straight Tone-Arm.

my main thing is SOUND. I want my rips to be as clean as possible. and I read some subpar reviews on the audio technica's and stanton t.92 built in pre-amp.....I don't wanna have to rip out the pre-amp....I already know i'd fukk something up
