What did you start cooking when you first learned how to cook?

I learned to cook around about age 9 or 10. The first thing I cooked was a hot fudge cake. It turned out pretty good. By the time I was in my 20's I was making full Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.

I would start out with simple things. One pot dinners like chili and things. Look on pinterest for ideas.

Potatoes are good to start with. They are versatile. Try some recipes for:
  • Mashed potatoes
  • French Fries
  • Scalloped Potatoes
  • Baked Potatoes
Do you have family dinners ever? Try making a side dish and having someone else that's a better cook make the entree.
