Chicago slang is aight.

LA slang is corny but funny at the same time too.

Baltimore slang is very basic and kinda trash but can be funny in certain contexts.

ATL slang is very hit or miss with me...Honestly, outside of New Orleans, Houston, Miami/South Florida, Charleston/Low Country, and Memphis, I don’t really care nor pay much attention to Southern slang.

Ion gotta clue about Detroit slang.

STL slang can be funny as hell.

Don’t know much about Boston slang, wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some NYC influence with theirs tho.

What slang do people really say from LA or the Bay?

Mark? Buster? :laff:

Right now Chicago and NY got the crown.
If you ever called someone a hater then you used Bay Area slang. If you ever said fa-sheezy you used bay area slang. If you ever called someone playa you used bay area slang.

Stick and slide aren’t Miami slang originally.

Who started stick then? Serious question. I remember hearing Dade brehs call choppas sticks back in the late 90’s/ early 2000’s. As far as Black hoods go, Miami was on the army gun shyt before a lot of other places was. You can get a choppa anywhere now, back in the day you had to drive down to some sketch house somewhere in Miami Gardens to get one.

Wrong.

Chicago has been saying Moe since the damn 70s :stopitslime:

The term Moe is short for Moor, which is a term that Blackstones (El Rukns) have been using forever in Chicago.
.

Probably before that. Got uncles on that El Rukn shyt and they would’ve been in they late 70’s if they was still around. When I think of a dude saying Moe an image of a slick talking Chicago old head pushing Moorish Science shyt pops into my mind.

Lol Ion know why they say that but it’s funny asf :mjlol:

Oh yeah, we still say joanin and lunchin, but it’s mainly the old heads (mid 30s and up) who say joe.

And mumbo sauce is a kinda mystery sauce that’s sweet yet tangy and can be spicy depending on where you get it or how it’s prepared...Its origins is extremely debatable to this day. You’ll find it in most carryouts in DC, PG, MoCo, and some parts of Northern VA but there’s plenty of people out here who make their own, like Capitol City Mumbo Sauce (Black-owned). We mostly put it on our fried wings and fries but you can put that shyt on errythang forreal :datazz:

It’s our speciality sauce of choice for our chicken...Same way Bmore ppl use saltketchuppepper on their wings or Chicago ppl use mild sauce or how y’all up in NYC use BBQ or duck sauce.

I think Chicago slang right now is probably the most popular among the younger folks, someone who is 19 right now might not agree with you in 10-20 years

LA slang is corny but funny at the same time too.

I think LA dudes just enunciate their words, I'd say it sounds clear and clean before I say it sounds corny

Baltimore slang is very basic and kinda trash but can be funny in certain contexts.

When the Wire was on BET and the hood really got into it, brehs was naming that pack off of shyt they heard dudes say on there. I vividly remember hearing shyt like WMD, and Death Row from Chicago to Florida back then. That's a little more particular than just naming it after the color on the apple baggie or the vial top. That shyt was from the Wire, which is Baltimore. Trash is a matter of perspective on that one.

ATL slang is very hit or miss with me...Honestly, outside of New Orleans, Houston, Miami/South Florida, Charleston/Low Country, and Memphis, I don’t really care nor pay much attention to Southern slang.

ATL hasn't been around as a factor nearly as long as other major cities, but I'd say we've given our fair share. Stuff like the trap is something even white people know about. And I think you short selling the south as a whole a tad there patna. Yall got a hood nicknamed Choppa City in DC, that's some southern shyt all day, NO made that, but calling a certain hood Choppa City been going on everywhere in the south since BG first dropped back in the 90's. Aint no hoods in ATL or MIA with a DC or mid atlantic related nickname.

Ion gotta clue about Detroit slang.

What up Doe and cheddar, lot of folks know about and use those.

STL slang can be funny as hell.

St Louis is like Memphis, not so on much slang as it is saying certain words in unique ways. They got they own stuff, but when you leave how they say things will leave more of an impression on you
