These nikkas game planned on cheating like this before going up there and shamelessly making a mockery of the skills of the game. Surprised Chris influencing Wemby to do stupid shyt like this as an OG of the game. It’s shyt like this why the league is a joke and ratings are in the toilet. The players don’t give an ounce of a fukk.

Non guaranteed contracts and a hard cap like the NHL and the NBA will be the best league in the world in 4-5 years. Once they pockets start getting tapped, all that “player empowerment” BS going out the window.

Apparently they asked several people if their strategy was against the rules and they were told it was not.

If nothing else, these shenanigans got the puters puting because I've seen people ranting about this shyt everywhere.

It's actually the opposite of what you're saying. It showed they really wanted to win. Usually players coast during the skills challenge, they were actually hustling this year.

By taking shortcuts to shave off time? :dahell:

The NBA had piss poor rules if all they had to do was pick up the ball and throw it and that “count” as a shot attempt. It should have been that you actually have to MAKE the shot to advance to the next stage. Just goofy shyt all around this weekend

What they did was perfectly legal, it just ruined the spirit/integrity of the game. the backlash from the crowd is what caused the NBA higher-ups to dq them. They shouldn't have been dq'd tbh. They should've gotten another go at it, but told them to actually try. It's an exhibition, not an actual game. Lighten the fukk up. That dude telling Allie LaForce "we're not doing this today" shyt like it's a top secret mission was dumb as fukk and self-important.

But people actually bet on these fukking things, so it kinda makes it less fun

It's stupid. the fact that a "skills challenge" doesn't require you to actually make shots, is ridiculous in and of itself

Honestly, they should go back to the format where 2 players race each other at the same time.

I just want them to care. Those dudes have been trotting up and down the court during the skills challenge the last couple of years. This year they were hustling. Team SA thought they found a loophole and tried to take advantage of it.

Eh I guess we’ll agree to disagree cause I didn’t see any hustling. I saw dudes “hustling” the rules system and cheating the skill of the game. Ironic that it’s two of the most highly skilled players the game has ever seen doing this stupid shyt. It’s kid watching this, it’s not even for us. It’s weak

No. Throwing the ball in random directions is not a shot. Which is why a bad pass in a game is not considered a fukking missed fg attempt.

It’s not “against the rules” in the rule books because whoever wrote the rules to the challenges gave more credit to the players to think they’d try some corny ass shyt like this. It’s Chris Paul tho so I expect nothing less.

the rule book explicitly says "valid attempts"
