The problem is the lack of talented Black female AND male singers getting recognized, signed and promoted. There's talent out here, but these labels rather settle for some marginal and no talent having ass motherfukers.

I look around and female singers like Teedra Moses and Goapele should be BIG household names w/ their talent. It's a damn shame.

vocal talent down across the board
the individuals who still put time in their craft are basically all cornballs
so it's a split

we need someone with the talent and in tune with the wave

The same reason why biracial and non black Women have taken over radio. :francis:

You ever notice ALL the radio shows web series stuff about hip hop always features two noticeably black men, and a non black or biracial woman? :usure:

The Breakfast Club
Hot 97 w/ Ebro
Big Boy
Everyday Struggle

I can go on & on...

They always feature TWO or more obviously black men, and non black Women or biracial women.

"Free" was the last noticeably black host of 106 n Park. They replaced her with Latinas.:martin:

This is all because of the demonization of of black women. There is this belief that people don't want to see black women. A black Woman being present means low quality and low ratings.

Same reason they have clubs that won't allow black Women in, because they don't want the club to look "too black", BUT they will let black men in non stop all night.:comeon:

The media (and black men) have done a successful job of demonizing us, and making us seen as undesirable. So we are no longer required in our own spaces. In fact, they prefer everyone BUT us! It always starts with black women.

This is what black women always complain about. And black men just tell us to shut up, were insecure and jealous. We been seen this, and we know where it's heading. Erasing US from our art form. Black men don't care, because it isn't happening to them, YET.

Black men are next... then all the rappers & rnb singers (male) will be non black.:beli:
Until it's happened to them they won't care. Imagine a Beyoncé video with a whole bunch of Brad Pitts and Cristiano Ronaldo's. They'd have a fit not knowing that's pretty much the standard nowadays for black men to be black but black Women to be anything but.

Ya'll are honestly thinking too deep. It comes down to $$$. The music industry does not have the money it once had. Back in the 60-70's you'd see huge ass bands like Earth Wind & Fire & Funkadelic with like 20 musicians, it cost labels too much money to record a band that size and tour a band that size so they turn to singing groups. It's easier recording and touring 3 or 4 vocalist like NE, Boyz 2 Men, Jodeci, SWV, TLC etc and hiring musicians on the road in that city or a DJ and now that's too expensive

So they hire solo acts, no vocal training and PR training, they'd prefer males cuz females need stylist and all that shyt and no real promo budget so they gotta go the Instagram route to promote themselves and have their own buzz for a label to fukk them. The last thing they are worried about is can they sing or not or if they are talented.
