swv and xscape over en vogue? I respect everyone's musical opinion. But that ain't right.
hell yea. en vogue was more talented vocally, but their discography doesn't stack up. they also hit their peak when i was like 4-7, those other groups were my middle and high school years, so a lot more memories were made to their music.

Saddest thing about this thread...

All these groups we're talkin about... all of em imploded within three albums. Imagine how much more incredible shyt we could've gotten if any of 'em knew how to stay together.

That's one thing some of the older groups have over them. They made a gang of albums, stayed together for years and were still out there when their runs were over. These 90s groups couldn't stay together for shyt. :damn: If the O'Jays came out in 1992, they woulda been done by '96.

If they were more talented in what way were they a step below???
They were no where close as being successful to them commericially or in fanbase.
Easy.

Az Yet and After 7 are two of the better R&B group of the 90s vocally, but they weren't top level groups like Jodeci or Boyz 2 Men or Dru Hill 112 and etc.

Shai had that love shyt on lock. Had to free some space on phone just lastnight, deleted a lot of my 90s RnB. This thread is making me seriously regret that

Yeah, but that all has to do with shyt like record labels and radio, politics and ass kissing.

Talent trumps all IMO, and while the artists you're calling second tier may not have the industry manufactured pop hits, they have songs that will be remembered forever by their fans and lovers of music, thanks strictly to their talent.

I think this has alot to do with money and I think that's why we don't see many of these groups today.
