Playing Metaphor the other day and during this boss fight, this one thing that I HAAATE in JRPGs is this:

You're fighting a boss that barely has any weaknesses and they whooping your ass. You then figure out a way to beat them and then once their HP is down to like maybe 20% , out of nowhere they self heal themselves and now you're essentially back to square one while you damn near finished up all your recovery items. :francis:

It's usually a scripted moment so it's not avoidable.

Runner up would be the boss fights where you can't really damage then too much as their weakness doesn't appear until after a few turns so you may end up wasting MP and or getting killed before the battle actually starts. All of this happened in the same battle too lol.

Looking at the last phase battle from Rebirth as well :mjlol:

Getting the boss to the last 25% of its health and it pulls a brand new move out of its ass you can barely avoid :martin:

I get annoyed with the lack of online lobby set up continuity and uniformity across fighting games in general. What I mean is there's some really easy, quality of life online set ups that too many fighting games don't adhere to across different titles within the genre and sometimes not even from respective games in their own series.

For example, it took Tekken 8 over a year to implement endless quick match when Tekken 7 had it from jump. Same thing with King of Fighters 14 to 15. Also features like being able to adjust the match set point without making a whole new lobby or change lobby size.
