This album defines the mid 90's. Straight masterpiece from start to finish. Nas was 20 years old when he penned this classic. The mafioso gritty NY street tales, the introspective poetic lyricism, the intricate metaphors. Lowkey, this album provides a glimpse of the The Firm with Foxy Brown on a feature.

"I Gave You Power"
"Watch Dem nikkas"
"The Message"
"Street Dreams"
"Black Girls is Lost"

This was a superb sophomore follow up from Illmatic.

Playing now. Funny, this is the first Red album I remember buying, yet its the one I remember least.

Except Rockafella :dj2: That shyt still gets regular play from me

Word, for the longest Whut was my favorite Red album and over time Dare became the one I started listened to the most and that moved in the number spot. :ohlawd:

I been playing Red & Meth - Blackout. Underrated I think.

The song The ? sounds like something off Dare to me.

I remember buying that album the day it came out

I haven’t listened to the album from start to finish since the 2000’s but the one song from the album I did listen to from it recently again is Maad Crew
