I actually think these could be remade, but they'd have to do some alternate timeline shyt where the original movies still took place.....maybe even throw in a cameo by Doc and Marty.

Ehh. All movies can be remade if we use this idea that it "could" be better. Movies that can't be remade have certain criteria
1. Originality
2. Star Power
3. Iconic Roles
4. Significance to the time period
5. Uniqueness
6. Quality
7. Popularity
Usually the remake won't hit any of these or not even half. Some are more remakeable than others. Like Die Hard 1-3 doesn't have 1,4(debateable actually), or 5, But it has 2,3,5,6 &7
Likewise Terminator 1&2 has damn near all of them so most Terminator movies could have the same concept but wouldn't be true enough to Terminator to be an actual Terminator movie and it's sometimes why these movies don't have good sequels. The matrix 1 checks off just about every box. Obviously this isn't the sole criteria but this MY criteria. I also think 1 and 5 sometimes ties into 7 because a movie could have done before that is similar but no one knows about it.

There's already a Big Trouble in Little China remake in the works. The Rock's production company is behind it and he's supposed to star in it. He got John Carpenters blessing too.

The worst part about the sequel is the Aykroyd originally wrote it with what became the first movie. It was supposed to come out mid 80s. But after John died, that ish sat on the shelf and had to be rewritten...by the time it came out, it's a rehash.

Hateful 8 definitely can be, because it's really a 3 hour stage play, but the characters are what made it. Dudes made great ish outta characters in which nothing was on the page.
As for Robocop, the sequel completely missed the point.
