They already remade this. Or do you mean remade with live action puppets? In that case no, but there will likely CGI remakes every 10 years or so.
Guarantee they will remake this at some point.
Lol, This will probably be remade more than once. That pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney is iconic. Meaning its not going anywhere. And they understand well that these movies are a highly profitable way of advertising the ride.
They essentially did remake this with that terrible gensys movie. It will most definitely be rebooted and remade once Arnold gets to old to draw box office numbers
I don't know the politics preventing it from happening but its obvious Hollywood would want to if they could. If getting the ok from akroyd and the belushi estate is all that's preventing it from happening then it will probably be remade as soon as one their kids or grandkids start having financial problem down the road.
