You don't have any facts to back up what you're saying. There is no established list of criteria. It's subjectively awarded. If you're counting on a bunch of media members to completely disregard that Manning is coming off surgery, and not let that impact their voting at all...you're gonna be severely disappointed. And I'm not arguing that it should help his cause, just being realistic that it will.
if youre counting on bunch of media members to disregard that brady in 2009 was coming off surgery and not let that impact their voting at all....oh wait they did !

2008 Manning was not one of the top 3 QBs in terms of yardarge or TDs.
ok, he was around top 5 there, not top 3. still, he was in the ballpark of other qbs that competed for the award, but his team had the most wins by FAR

in comparison brees and rivers teams were 8-8
warners team was 9-7
rodgers team was 6-10

whats the last time voters gave award to a 9-7 or 8-8 team qb ?

You're out here trying to tell me the criteria and can't even come up with a concrete set list. Yours has exceptions, and "or so"s.
every list has exceptions.

I told you the criteria. take top qbs and see which one has best record. 2008, manning had 12-4 record. closest competing qb had 9-7 record. end of story...

your claim that voters care about injuries or surgeries has zero basis to it. ZERO
why didnt tom brady get the mvp in 2009 then ? or was even close to it ?
why didnt favre get in 2009 ?

A lot of media aren't even including Tom "Silver Spoon" Brady in the discussion. :heh:

Evaluating the NFL MVP Race*|*The Pigskin Report

You're agenda it pitiful. On ESPN they've been saying he's in there for about two weeks now. It's also funny that you call Brady "silver spoon" when Peyton grew up rich with an NFL father. And then you found an article from a no-name site from 11 days ago :rudy: Stop it 5.

I'm not knocking him or using it to prop up anyone else. I just think he has more time to throw than anyone else in the league. :yeshrug:

All great quarterbacks get rid of the ball quickly and make their o-lines look better in pass blocking than they really are. I think the Pats o-line is legitimately dominant though (except when they play the Giants :steviej: ).

I don't think anyone can complain about who ends up winning the MVP between Brady and Manning (Peterson too, if Minnesota somehow sneaks into the playoffs). Both are having incredible seasons.

Nah, I think there would be a legitimate complaint if Peyton wins and this trajectory continues especially because Brady is about to Houston and San Fran back to back.

But I'll just disagree with your most time statement. This year is the first year that football outsiders has the Patriots with the best O-line for pass-blocking in the league.

The Broncos are third BTW. The point is basically moot.

In 2011, the Pats O-line was not top 5 for pass blocking.

In 2010, again not top 5. The Colts (Peyton), Falcons, Lions, Saints (Brees), Giants (Eli) all rated higher than the Pats in pass-blocking. What's especially important is that this is the year the Pats brought in Gronk and Aaron and started doing two TE sets so Gronk was doing a lot of help blocking.

In 2009 (Brady year' back off injury)- Colts 1, Pats 2nd, Mankins was a beast.

In 2008 - They were rated 26th after being rated 4th the year before.

Again, Brady has a strong o-line, one of the best in the league, but he's as important to them as they are to him. He's the guy calling out the blitzes and putting them in position pre-snap and getting the ball out. You saw the difference with Cassel behind that line.

Peyton makes his line look good by audibling and hot routes. Tom Brady sits in the pocket like he waiting on paint to dry before he has pressure to throw. :comeon:

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now. :whoa:

IF they thump those two teams, he'll definitely be the favorite, but let's wait until they play the games before we declare them over.

I'm not talking about previous seasons, I'm talking about this season, right now and as it stands, I've seen plenty of games where Brady has ungodly amounts of time to scan the field and complete passes.

The fact that they have a dominant rushing attack too is certainly a clear advantage he has over Peyton and Rodgers, whose teams rank 19th and 22nd and average 3.9 and 3.8 yards a rush, respectively (Pats 4.3).

Yet Brady STILL managed to throw for more yards than either :smugfavre:

The Patriots O this year may be better than 07, I'm not sleeping on that run game. I didn't give him those wins either. But you said if either of them win you can't be mad. So I said, assuming this trajectory continues, then there would be a reason to be mad if he loses. If you come out of that still averaging 300 passing yards a game then you gave the league :thiswork:

They're at home, we'll see how it goes.

If the Pats win out, I think Brady should get the MVP. If they slip up and lose once or twice and the Broncos win out, Peyton's gonna get it.

The 'scuses are endless :russ:

Just facts, breh. :steviej:
