If they don't make a third season I'm smacking somebody. But I'm glad I could just binge two seasons, if I had to wait week to week I can see why it might not be popular.
Yeah S1 was so much better in a binge because it felt too disjointed watching weekly. But how the events connected together flowed so much better in a binge. Prob do the same with S3.

I knew this series was Dark but wtf :sadcam::damn:

The whole conflict between Sayaka vs Kyouko is interesting because Kyouko is someone that forces Sayaka to decide regarding her ideals. I guess it could be something that separates Madoka from Sayaka because she is willing to fight other Magical Girls who get in her way. While clearly Madoka would want to prevent them from fighting. Although it is interesting that Sayaka groups Sayaka & Homura together. While there is truth to both of them doing things for their self-interest. It feels like Kyouko doesn't want to expand magical energy if it isn't needed. Homura is still a mystery given how she is trying to prevent Madoka from becoming one.

I do like that Sayaka sticks to her ideals in her conversation with Kyuubey, but at the same time, Kyuubey keeps pressing on Madoka being a Magical Girl feels uncomfortable. Of course, as Kyuubey points out, Kyouko's style is why she is a stronger Magical Girl and Homura would rather have her protect the town than Sayaka. Though it does make me question who is Homura really?

I did love Madoka's conversation with her mother. Essentially, not being afraid to make mistakes. I think it is fair for Madoka to be overwhelmed with all that is happening. Though the key for her is to stand your ground and if you make a mistake, it isn't the end of the world. Of course, her mom doesn't know about magical girls and witches. Even beyond that, Madoka not being afraid to keep pushing forward is key.

Following that though we have a fukking dark twist. So the contract that. Kyuubey does essentially take the Magical Girls's soul and put it into a soul gem. This is something that even Kyouko didn't know about, but it seems Homura might have known this. Though the fact Kyuubey says all that it says and there is no remorse and sounds like it is doing these girls a favor is concerning. Is there any way to change it? Maybe this is what Homura was leading Madoka on about?

Oh shyt things about to get interesting :lupe:

Alright, I did not expect to get Shenlü to be the one who was the culprit with happened between Lihua & Shin. Though to add, moreover, Suirei is working with her. Very much so you can understand why they would have resentment for the Imperial Family given what the former emperor did. I am not exactly understanding what is Suirei's play in all of this. Though at the very least, given that the insect book was there, makes me feel Shisui has a bigger play in this, and she isn't simply a hostage.

Lakan vs Shishou makes for an intriguing clash that, I feel, is bound to come. Of course, Lakan mentioned the assassins got their hands on the weapon given that it comes from the west. Really makes Shishou seem suspect. More cards are about to be played. Also, once I heard the voice I immediately knew that it was Ah-Duo. Curious where she has been through this whole time. Although if Jinshi is looking for Maomao then word has already spread. Concern is if word reaches Lakan because Jinshi is scary, but Lakan is another level of scary.

This episode really put Kyouko is a better light. You can understand why she acts how she is. She made her wish to save her father as he was hitting rock bottom. You look at Madoka's loving family, and you can understand why Kyouko made that her wish. (Obviously they didn't know each other back then.) The sacrifice in being a magical girl was well worth it for Kyouko. But the one she made the wish turned on her, and now she is broke and alone. You can sympathize with Kyouko here because helping those she cared about backfired on her. Now as a magical girl, what's the point of hunting familiars if it means expelling her magical energy and not getting anything out of it. Her kindness backfired, and it is hard for her to get past that kind of trauma.

Honestly, I am more impressed that it was Kyouko that did what Madoka would have wanted. She empathized with Sayaka and tried to be on the same wavelength, but here Sayaka pushed her away. Kind of the point where her ideals are overtaking her actions. Yes, being a magical girl gives one the ability to do tons of good, but what about Sayaka's happiness? I guess for Sayaka she truly hasn't hit the bottom that Kyouko has and can't understand what Kyouko is trying to do here.

At this point, Kyuubey really showing up as a creep. It's pressing on Sayaka's Soul Gem is basically kind of outlining why it did it. To add on, the fact Mami didn't know the structure puts her in a better light. Although this does bring a small chance of her coming back maybe if they can recover her Soul Gem? Of course, Kyuubey is ignoring what these girls actually want. For Sayaka her insecurities are so heightened and then Hitomi mentions her feelings for Kyosuke. Of course, she is being mature in realizing Sayaka spends so much time with Kyosuke that she wants her to face her feelings first. Much like Madoka's mom, Hitomi just isn't aware what Sayaka is going through even though her advice is very sound IMO. Sadly, by the end of the episode things look to be worse for Sayaka and, at this point, is doing what Kyuubey wants with her. Simply throwing away her body around.

One aspect of Madoka and Homura's conversation that has me intrigued is when Homura mentions that she is no longer human. Unless it is something I missed, there is a purple diamond on her finger. I wonder what that could be about?

Lakan wanting to talk Go play with his wife had me :dead:

And yeah, the plot definitely thickens. I wonder where Jinshi is too, the hairpin Maomao took with her will probably play a part I'd guess.

I also wonder if the cat from the infirmary wanting one of the boxes Maomao had will mean anything as well.

So Finnian was basically an experiment or test subject? I assume the gunshot was Mey-Rin. While the flashback back it was quick, but it got to the point of how much Ciel means to Finnian. He finally had a name and a purpose in life.

The interactions between Sullivan and Sebastian is great. Honestly, Sebastian is much more of a butler than Wolfram as he feels like more of an older brother who spoils her. Honestly, I give her props for wanting to communicate in English. Curious that Sullivan didn't consider that Sebastian is a demon of sorts.

With the secret passage way that Sebastian found and how curious Sullivan is, it feels Sullivan is very closed from the outside world. Naturally, she is much more curious. Plus, the mention of the gang leaving made her sad because, more than likely, she is usually alone. It is making me suspicious of the 3 women, and it feels like they have more power than what we have seen. It seems there is a connection between them and Wolfram. Curious what Sebastian finds in the secret passageway.

Urino is really taking charge, though his conversation with Osanai feels creepy in some ways. After the phone call cutting off to where immediately he learns of the fire. Also, what looks like her shadow appearing where Urino was calling her from just leads more speculation to what is she doing. Though I still get this feeling, it's more likely that she is a red herring. I agree with other comments that Hiya could very likely be the culprit. For so one so invested and decline Urino's invitation is fishy.

The last part of Kobato & Nakamaru's date just highlights how terrible a match they are. I highly suspect she is starting the rumors to either get Kobato jealous or mad. Either to pay more attention to her or to breakup with her. He is very much a man who likes to overthink and solve cases where Nakamaru feels too simple-minded for him.

To be fair, she only was a part of one case in the 2nd half and disappeared after that. Plus I don't remember too much about what her connections were about in S1. Though that might have been part of the mystery that carried over. :jbhmm:

It's one of those show that a lot of stuff happens can creep up on you and everything that seems to be put in the story has a purpose. Curious if this storyline executes better than the Lakan storyline from the end of S1.

Lazarus seriously needs to explain why so many people are not giving a fukk about potentially dying in 30 days

First episode they made it seem like a big deal, everyone saw the video, the world was supposed to go into chaos as people tried to find Skinner.

Literally NO ONE except the main cast has given a fukk since :wtf: it's ruining the immersion of the show imo.

it'd be way easier to buy into the show if everyone wasn't so nonchalant and tryna be cool 24/7. A doctor literally said everyone on the planet who took this drug is dying in 30 days....

It's insane how the hype on the show has fizzled. Like this should be the BIG show that has people talking like Solo Leveling was last season. There is none of that. Between Max not getting the final animation cuts from Mappa to delay the sub version and cheapening on the English Dub deserves to be fired. This is before we even talk about the quality of the show, which I still can't comment on yet.

I'm completely ignoring how bad the dub is because most dubs are bad to me anyway :yeshrug: these characters all have that bland voice you hear in Call of Duty games, you can get more emotion out of an Ai voice generator than these people.

The show is objectively weak as hell, if you started watching these episodes it wouldn't be as insane to you, it's flat as fukk and feels rushed.

It's like, nobody had the balls to question Watanabe about what he was doing with this plot, they just bent over to the nostalgia gods and hoped everyone would just roll with it.

Adult Swim embarrassed themselves yet again
