Isn't solo leveling just one punch man with a season of showing his backstory. I'm seeing this trend a lot of super ridiculously powered main characters and that shyt is trash. I preferred it when the MC struggled and pulled out a power up out his ass when shyt got dire.

Well, also OPM with no comedy. Tbh the power fantasy stuff you see in a lot of anime is the escapism that a lot of isekai have as well. Tbh I get why Japan loves these escapism shows because work life in Japan is fukking horrific.

Solo Leveling blew up with the Manhwa because of the godly art it has and the anime much the same with the top-tier adaptation it got. Much like Demon Slayer, nobody would really be talking about it like that if it got an average or even above average adaptation :yeshrug:. Sometimes you wanna watch something where you can turn your brain off and for pure style.

From the author of Sket Dance (also former assistant of Gintama) and I have been reading it, and it should be very fun watch.

Also post my thoughts on the Prescreening of the first 3 episodes that I watched today.

I really feel they are capturing the manga very well here. The episode flowed pretty well for me. This is Rina Kawaguchi's first major role, but I think she did a good job portraying Nico. The only thing that set me off at the start was Nico's high pitch at the start. Although that could just be a theater thing for me.

I really liked the interview with Rina Kawaguchi, Ryouta Suzuki and Hiroshi Ikehata. Interesting but from Hiroshi talking about the style of comedy and how they're implementing ad-libbing. It was cool for them to show how it was implemented in one scene in the showing.

The adaptation looks promising, and I am excited when they get to adapt the funniest parts from the manga.

This episode adapted chapters 51 + 52 completely. Most of 53 and the final scene where #4 says her wish is taken from chapter 54.I didn't notice that much when reading the manga, but the drawings that Nene made behind the bars really standout and are really adorable in the anime.

Well, we were wondering when Nene will learn about the stuff regarding her lifespan. Granted, I didn't think any suspected her learning from pretending to be asleep. I can't blame her for being in shock, especially since Hanako thrusting this new world on her and didn't ask her about it.

This episode did an outstanding job at highlighting how much Hanako cares about Nene. Hanako is someone that we have seen is very particular about how things are done. He was absolute against Mitsuba's wish to be a human. Of course, this wasn't a solution that he would ideally like, but it does fix Nene's limited lifespan. Is this the only realistic solution, though? While I don't agree with Hanako's actions of forcing this solution on Nene, I can easily empathize with him.

I loved how Nene tried to be threatening, but in her situation she is powerless against #4. With Hanako and Shijima against her, we got Tsukasa to the rescue? From everything we have seen, he loves chaos. The moment Shijima mentioned her wish he was probably thinking this could be fun. As Nene was figuring out what to do now, she was eating pancakes with the other Shijima. Well, not the first time Nene got distracted when she was across the table from a girl of around the same age.

Meanwhile, for Kou it is no surprise he is in the dumps. Hanako created this plan for Nene, and he has brought nothing of value to help her. Though Nene wouldn't want him to feel that way. Though I love how Mitsuba tries to cheer him up. Their friendship is pretty wholesome.

Some sketches by the mangaka Aidairo for episode 10.
