I'm still mad God of Highschool and Noblesse had such lackluster showings. :mjcry:
I felt like they speedran those animes so hard, it doomed them to fail. ToG S1 got just a little bit of love and was a hit...so then they cut corners and a lot of people dropped S2 before it got to the good stuff (and also, people didn't connect with the new cast like they should).

I'm PRAYING that Solo Leveling keeps up the steam and more Manwha get serious looks. I could see Beginning After the End, HCLW, Return of the Blossoming Blade, and Legend of the Northern Blade all being hits with proper treatment. But then I look at Sakamoto Days and think to myself, "there are no guarantees in the anime business after all"

All depends on how much the production committee puts in. Solo Leveling was fukking massive with the Manhwa, so much so the anime can flop in Japan, and it is fine for them. Though with any of these Korean series for me it's like I believe it will be a good anime when I see it. "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" which I heard outstanding things about was also announced for an anime by Aniplex.

I do feel like that is the next one bound for a good adaptation. Unlike Solo Leveling where the plot is pretty basic, this one from what I heard this writing and story is top-notch. Though it doesn't need to go as hard as Solo Leveling does and it will be received well. I heard that the Manhwa is excellent, but I am going to start reading the Novel since that got licensed soon.

I'm actually a little nervous about Omnisicent Reader's Viewpoint, because I could see an anime screwing up the pacing and tone shifts. It's got a really dark premise, but a lot of humor. So, balancing both could be tough. Then it also has a pretty large cast and a constantly expanding world. I think it's a needle to thread, that will be a major if they nail it...but I'm also preparing to be on my, "don't judge it on the anime, read the manwha" tip.

The Manwha is excellent, for sure. But I think simpler plots with really good action might be easier for the anime studios to adapt (I swear Hardcore Leveling Warrior could thrive in a world where Shangri La Frontier is getting A-tier production).

I have no idea why maybe I was bored but I started watching Headhunted to another world: from salaryman to big four and it has peaked my interest.

They only have seven episodes so far and I’m on episode 2 but I’m fukking with it.

Balancing the dark themes with comedy I don't think is an issue. Although large cast is the one thing because, unlike novels, anime and manga/manhwa don't handle large casts as well. Ishura S1 is one example. You get 20-30 major characters introduced and in a weekly anime that's hard for people to digest everything. The main reason I planned on just binging S2.

The issue with these Korean series is less about if it has potential, but getting these production committees to buy in. I mean hell like we said with Sakamoto Days, which is one of Jump's biggest mangas atm. If they don't put enough budget and get the right director & staff the anime will more then likely it will be a bust.

I will be the first to say that ever since Disney started caring about having anime on their platforms again, I didn't expect them to pick out good shows in the process. I was more so expecting them to grab some isekai and follow Crunchyroll's lead, they've caught me by surprise.

Tbh the difference between Saito and Arato was showcased well in their final conversation. Simply put, Arato is scared shytless. Even more so in his conversation with Cho it did a great show at illustrating the differences between evil and scum. Evil is associated with being scum, but there is a difference. Despite Shihsio hiding what his true plans are from most of the swords, they have the up most loyalty with him. Arato willing to work a deal with Cho implies he is scum. Essentially, he would resort to asking help from his enemy. Though I do hope seeing that kid willing to fight gave Arato the courage he needed.

You know how well and capable Shishio is as a leader because he can get more members to be fully invested in his plans and basically ride with him to hell. Now it is Yumi as a few episodes ago it was Houji.
