I'm still mad God of Highschool and Noblesse had such lackluster showings.I've been slacking on this new season of drops but Apothecary Diaries is GOAT-tier still; and I'm glad Solo Leveling is getting the production it deserves and not catching Tower of God S2 treatment.
I felt like they speedran those animes so hard, it doomed them to fail. ToG S1 got just a little bit of love and was a hit...so then they cut corners and a lot of people dropped S2 before it got to the good stuff (and also, people didn't connect with the new cast like they should).I'm still mad God of Highschool and Noblesse had such lackluster showings.![]()
All depends on how much the production committee puts in. Solo Leveling was fukking massive with the Manhwa, so much so the anime can flop in Japan, and it is fine for them. Though with any of these Korean series for me it's like I believe it will be a good anime when I see it. "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" which I heard outstanding things about was also announced for an anime by Aniplex.I felt like they speedran those animes so hard, it doomed them to fail. I'm PRAYING that Solo Leveling keeps up the steam and more Manwha get serious looks. I could see Beginning After the End, HCLW, Return of the Blossoming Blade, and Legend of the Northern Blade all being hits with proper treatment. But then I look at Sakamoto Days and think to myself, "there are no guarantees in the anime business after all"
I'm actually a little nervous about Omnisicent Reader's Viewpoint, because I could see an anime screwing up the pacing and tone shifts. It's got a really dark premise, but a lot of humor. So, balancing both could be tough. Then it also has a pretty large cast and a constantly expanding world. I think it's a needle to thread, that will be a major if they nail it...but I'm also preparing to be on my, "don't judge it on the anime, read the manwha" tip.All depends on how much the production committee puts in. I do feel like that is the next one bound for a good adaptation. Unlike Solo Leveling where the plot is pretty basic, this one from what I heard this writing and story is top-notch. Though it doesn't need to go as hard as Solo Leveling does and it will be received well. I heard that the Manhwa is excellent, but I am going to start reading the Novel since that got licensed soon.
Balancing the dark themes with comedy I don't think is an issue. Although large cast is the one thing because, unlike novels, anime and manga/manhwa don't handle large casts as well. Ishura S1 is one example. You get 20-30 major characters introduced and in a weekly anime that's hard for people to digest everything. The main reason I planned on just binging S2.I'm actually a little nervous about Omnisicent Reader's Viewpoint, because I could see an anime screwing up the pacing and tone shifts. The Manwha is excellent, for sure. But I think simpler plots with really good action might be easier for the anime studios to adapt (I swear Hardcore Leveling Warrior could thrive in a world where Shangri La Frontier is getting A-tier production).
Second season is coming out in AprilPlease tell me Go Go Loser Ranger is getting a season 2
