You know I should have expected Nowak to come into the building with a backup plan. But damn, he was willing to go down with those two. Kind of happy he could realize what this was truly about because Antoni, since his introduction has been about himself and his luck finally ran out. But damn, even at his age, Nowak delivered a swift blow. Though even surprised that he went to kill Draka, but obviously, she was able to escape briefly.
Seeing Nowak's illusion of Rafal was actually really cool. I like how Nowak mentions that he is the villain or antagonist of the story. That while technically true, there were forces in the background that we didn't really see, like Antoni's father that made the call for what Nowak to do what he did. But he was the main driving force against heliocentrism.
What I found to be the best scene of this episode is when Nowak takes out Jolenta's arm with the glove. So many of us assumed that Nowak still didn't know everything regarding Jolenta. I do love to reveal he knew that it was Jolenta who was the leader who killed herself. At the end of the day, him praying for Jolenta could make it to heaven really showed that for him, Jolenta was the person in the world he cherished most. Such a fantastic scene and a great send off for Nowak.
Of course, we are aware that Rafal had a big effect on Nowak. Though this episode illustrated perfectly how much that pain for him was to see a bright kid give everything up for their beliefs. Though the interesting part is that he ended up killing Draka who was a kid ahead of his time. So similar to Rafal, but her gifts were different. Though she was able to get her message out so she didn't die in vain. In her dying moments she faced and embraced the sun like Schmitt did. What a beautiful scene that is because she embraced her death.
I am really curious how the final 2 episodes wraps things up.
