Can’t believe they’re making a new Nanoha anime.

3 seasonals that I tried today.

The first being Sorairo Utility. Which is a CGDCT's Golf anime. Following Tonbo which just finished S2, this is something if you want more golf. Though, this is more finding a place to belong and not so much competitive golf like Tonbo. Definitely not something like Birdie Wing. Seems like a chill fun watch.

The 2nd and most promising was Tasokare Hotel. Which is a mystery supernatural series where episode gave you a good idea what this series is all about. This Tasokare Hotel is a purgatory of sorts that is between the death and the living. As we learn to identify who these people are, they come to grasp what they did. Yumi is the case that the fortune-teller she adored was gone, but in reality it was her interest in fortune-telling that drew her in. Nicely thought out by Neko.

Anyone into Supernatural Mystery would like it.

The final one was I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class. And the title literally tells you everything you need to know. Episode 1 essentially take what the title gives and makes it even more ridiculous. Episode 1 gives clear hints that with the heroine's friend and the Mc's Cousin ( ) that it will be a generic Harem RomCom. The one positive I have for it, the dynamic between the leads is really good, this being one where the Japanese VA's carry this anime hard.

Now onto Episode 8 of my rewatch for Ishura S1.

The first bit we finally have Yuno encountering Dakai and in all honestly, this really points out the flaws in her character. Since on the surface it looks like a suffering builds character, but in reality she doesn't look at the root of the problem. As Dakai mentions, the people there wanted the labyrinth to be solved. Essentially, what happened was bound to occur eventually. Also, we see her discuss how Soujirou and Dakai are strong, and they don't think about the weak. Essentially, that is a loser's mentality. Especially with how Soujirou was more than considerate about her position.

The moment when she hesitates to even attempt her revenge sets the tone for the true problem. Yes, she is afraid, but her convictions aren't strong.

Back to the topic of Taren we see her claim that she will rule with fear like the True Demon King. With the idea that she was pushed to rule, you wonder if she feels like that is something she has to do. There is also the question of why is Taren pushing for a war in the first place? Clearly there are pieces missing in the puzzle.

The final was great to put into perspective of both Kia's World Words and Kuze's Angel. It makes for an interesting what if. What if they interacted. Kia saying Die to Kuze would trigger his angel. Would it be a contradiction, she could stop before those words take in effect as Kia can putting the power of any Word Art into words? Also, how would these two go against off worlders since they can't use Word Arts. The extra point as well, Higuare's death was caused by Nastqiue and not Kia. We know that her words to Higuare were to protect them, but we can see the poison gas caused Nastique to join. Perhaps protecting them was more from Higuare and the poison gas was not in consideration in Kia's words. I think what this might show is that Kia posses great power, but as words can be manipulated to what they actually mean, is this Kia's weakness.

The more concerning thing regarding Kia is how Elea is manipulating her. The guards in which Kia puts to sleep are killed by Elea. Kia, obviously, doesn't know this. As Lana has found out, Kia is World Words that she was searching for Elea decides to back off from Lana for once. But Kia, who thinks she has created a bond with Lana, wants to save her. The sad part is this kid in the palm of these corrupted adults using her for their own selfish wishes.

Your rewatch was better than my experience with S1.
Tbh with so many characters. Like we're talking 20+ major ones, it's honestly difficult to do it right in a weekly anime. Similar to Monogatari every line of dialogue has a purpose. But man, I remember watching S1 when it aired, and I was like missing a good amount of what was going on early on. Like I was confused why there was this whole war before.

Obviously, being based on a Novel and in a book, it is better handled to have many characters. Plus S1 iirc only covered 1 book. More to the point, S1 was meant to be binged. On paper, this has everything you would want in a great action series. Interesting characters (granted there's a lot), outstanding worldbuilding and solid action. But if it doesn't click for someone, none of that matters. Not saying that was the case for you. Just generally speaking.

Watching up through Toilet-bound Hanako-kun and episodes 3+4 cover up the Misaki stairs arc.

This is the arc where we start to get the feel for this series. Technically, Hanako is the 1st school mystery that was introduced, but the Misaki Stairs is the first one. With students disappearing is what springs both Nene and Hanako to go out to deal with it.

One of the biggest strengths of this series is its stellar lore and world building, but at the same time make it very understandable for the audience. This is especially important with an anime since if you don't establish it well you will lose the audience.

  • Boundary being an area that is between life and death. As Hanako mentions, no one lives and nobody dies here, which gives Nene hope regarding her best friend Aoi.
  • Regarding that, since is the first time they are venturing into a School mystery's territory that despite Hanako coming alone, the danger risk is high. Since each school mystery is practically unbeatable in their territory. So it doesn't diminish Hanako's strength, but keeps tension levels high.
  • The big info drop is regarding Yorishiro. The battery example that the show uses is great. The energy in the territory is gone, and defeating the School Mystery is very manageable.

This is a big arc for Nene because it shows her self awareness to herself. As we saw in episode 1, how selfish Nene was regarding finding her love. While she empathizes the feelings that Yako had for Misaki. At the same time, love is a two-way street. In the case of Yako what she was doing to the students is the exact things Misaki would hate as her teacher.

One curious part is that taking care of the school mystery reduces their power significantly, especially when they lose their Yorishiro. As a first arc, this does everything you need. The big thing is having us empathize with Yako. She was in the wrong, but what she did was a very human thing, as we all have dealt with the loss of those we hold dear to ourselves.

Man Orb outdoes itself week after week lately :wow:

Antoni is just awful. Everything is for his agenda, and he doesn't care who gets hurt in the process. The last episode it showed how immoral these torture sessions can be, as Jolenta was innocent of what he accused her. We got an innocent boy dying for being true to what he believed, and now Nowak just lost the one thing he always sought out to protect.

The flashback with Jolenta and Nowak just truly showed how much he cared for his daughter. The good, as we see her learning how to write, and we even see he isn't perfect. He raises his voice to his daughter, but as she apologizes, he says he was in the wrong. God, who knows what Nowak will do next. I only pray he can learn that his daughter is alive.

We actually understand why Oczy's journal will be spread, even though Badeni burned it. It all is because each page is written on each of the homeless. As they got bread from Oczy that trust built between them. Then in which they could be found after Badeni's death. But I love the mention of truth can change the world. Makes me wonder if Grabowski will be the next character we will be following, even though Nowak has the orb.
