Does the MC get better? Motherfukker is one of the most pathetic and least redeemable MCs I've ever seen. And the series ain't "deep" enough for me to buy into him being so fukking pathetic :scust:
He gets better in S2. S1 he was a headache in terms of being annoying. I started rooting for the dude during the second part of S2.

Tho let’s be real here he’s just massively annoying. He ain’t on Rudy level in terms of being irredeemable :russ:

World building has always been the biggest selling point of the series. For me, unlike MT the cons of Subaru doesn’t outweigh the Worldbuilding to make me want to stick with the series unlike it is with Rudy.

7th Time Loop Finished today.

You know in a season with two top tier Female Protagonists in Frieren and Maomao. While I still would put Rishe behind them, she deserves to be in the conversation. She has carried this season, not to take anything away from Arnold.

[Episode 12] The first part of the finale went as a lot of people expected, and she had used the black powder to make fireworks. It was gorgeous. Though for Michel to see his creation used for good right before his eyes was great. Rishe showed him you can use it for good. Hopefully he doesn't give up.

I loved the ending portion with Rishe and Arnold. Each of Rishe's time loops each of her experiences has helped her with the current life she is in. For a lot of it she seemed like Ms. Perfect as she was able to adapt to any situation. Except romance, every time Arnold flirted with her, he got her flustered. She learned the truth behind the man whose plan led to her demise in her previous lives. Her objective is romance, and she absolutely fell in love with him. I think how she learns the art of romance with Arnold can also give us an idea how she gained the skills in her previous lives. Where she is the one who can get Arnold flustered.

This was a big surprise for, but visuals, direction and voice acting were top-notch. This and Weakest Tamer were two surprise that I came to anticipate each episode with great anticipation each week. Will read the light novels and hope we get the same quality if we get a season 2.

 If we getting #12 with the Fireworks, then we need an Emergency OVA #13 with a Beach Episode.

@tripleaamin i don’t understand the post credit scene for knacksack kid do you?
Tbh it's kind of confusing, but what from what I understand is that Shouko has memories of all the timelines, but there seems to be some issue with the current timeline the series is on. If I remember correctly something from Shouko's side where she doesn't have access to information. My guess is that maybe the next film could have two timelines interacting.

Tbh shyt is confusing af. :russ:

I was assuming some avengers infinity war endgame where their timeline gets wiped out since no other one has the video or mai or sukuta disappear cuz of it

Finished up rewatching Tensura S2 Pt 1

On the topic Demon Lords once again after Rimuru and Raphael gathering the necessary sacrifices needed to bring back everyone. Grucius makes a notable comment where the feat Rimuru is achieving is something even something Demon Lord Carrion can do. With mention how Milim is the strongest of the Demon Lords it brings into curiosity how strong Rimuru is now compared to her since before he only handled as one would do with a child.

The battle between Carrion and Milim really showcases the difference in strength between these two. We know that Carrion is no slouch. So you get the sense that it still is optimal for Rimuru dealing with MIlim the same way as before because she is literally destroying mountains

Rimuru and his crew getting a massive upgrade for allies. The obvious mention in Rimuru's new strength as a True Demon Lord. But also adding Diablo and Veldora to the mix. Really considering the fact how strong Benimaru soloed everything on his end for preparations for Rimuru's ritual for becoming a demon lord. It is truly a remarkable mistake what the humans did by pissing off Rimuru they increased the strength of Tempest by ten-fold. It is mentioned by becoming a true Demon Lord, the time Veldora was able to leave decreased dramatically.

Season ends on quite few hanging threads. First you have the situation with the Carrion and the Animal Kingdom and Carrion. Next you have Clayman who manipulated events to get rid of Rimuru and the fact that Frey and Milim were heading for his territory is a red flag. The last is concerns with Hinata and those of the church.

Overall this part of S2 did an amazing job setting a darker tone for the series. Rimuru understands now that he can't be naive there are going to be people that don't like what he is doing. The conversation regarding Rimuru and Benimaru regarding making sure Rimuru haven't lost his way is key. While Rimuru did adjust his policies when dealing with humans since part of the issue was that monsters of Tempest couldn't think for themselves when dealing with humans. It wasn't his intention but in a way Rimuru was putting humans above monsters and now them judging humans very similar to how Rimuru judges monsters is the optimal scenario. We still see the high energy Rimuru, the fear that his personality would be altered with the new power he achieved seems to be nothing to worry about.

Veldora Journal 2, is another recap and this time for the events after S1 ended to where cour 1 ends up. Veldora is still fukking hilarious with his banter with Ifrit. :russ: You get a new conversation between Raphael, Ifrit and Veldora. Nothing essential to watch, but it adds more context.

Screen_Shot_2024-03-24_at_9.07.07_PM.png

In addition to the comedy from Veldora, he also provides additional insight and foreshadowing. One obvious one is that the fairy tale that Eren told Rimuru is based on Milim. To be honest in an anime medium this is pretty damn obvious. Though I imagine this would be a bigger revelation reading in the Novel. The other is the suggestion that Diablo has lived longer than himself. It really makes you wonder how strong Diablo is.

The connection between Chloe, Shizue, Rimuru and the Hero has been one that the series has been utilizing with show not tell foreshadowing the connection with these four. Then adding Demon Lord Valentine's connection to the Hero that we saw in Visions of Coleus. Now Veldora literally goes if you haven't been paying attention, he provides a giant hint.

Couldn't disagree more :heh:

Subaru didn't get better in season 2 for me.

And Rudy ain't pathetic, his problems are related to what the author is trying to :scheme: his way as a redemption story. If someone can't get past that (which I understand) there's nothing to make him worth following.

Like @twan83 said he had a clear story arc with considerable development in S2, now whether it's what you were looking is another story. Sometimes certain characters and stories don't jell with us. But if you are two seasons and about 50 episodes in still asking these question you prob are better off dropping this series imo :manny:

The crystal scorpion animation for Shangri-la Frontier....

:wow:
Brehs continue to sleep on this show. Maybe because it isn't high stakes? But consistency and the love and high quality of the adaptation is absolutely in the Frieren and Apothecary ballpark.

If we get the same quality in S2, brehs ain't ready. Some top of the line entertaining action anime. Honestly I prefer it to JJK anime because even the non action moments absolutely deliver. The trio talking trash with each other is fukking hilarious :russ:. Emul and Sunraku dialogue every time Sunraku got killed by those Scorpions had me rolling :deadrose:

Honestly the ending for High Card feels really satisfying. Not a series that blew you away, but came out as a really, super solid show. I really grew to really like the cast outside of Sugar. A little sad that Tilt couldn't be saved, but at this point you had to kill the root cause of the Black Knight.

I would say that we never got focus on Vijay and I do feel more focus on the royal family would have benefited the series. Would it work if they could drag out this ending to S3? Hard to say.

Regarding this episode I do wonder if plan A could have work if they weren't interrupted. I have my doubts but hey you could wonder. Sugar finding Young's killer at that moment was massively lucky but good for her, she arrested his killer.

The writing of the Royal Family of just being a hindrance did frustrate me at times. Just lacking common sense.

But overall in a season with a solid amount of originals, this one was my favorite.

Recently finished rewatching Konosuba S1. Tbh now that I have watched more fantasy and isekai I can really appreciate the writing. From Kazuma getting the ideal life in another world with a harem where all the girls are useless for him. From Aqua being a useless Goddess since every isekai has the goddess/god characters at the start of each isekai. Magumin being the loli child type who is a hindrance. Darkness as the literal "I can fix her" girl.

Writing of the comedy is similar to 100 GF's only difference being what they are parodying Fantasy & Isekai vs Romance & Harem. Outside of Ep 9 with the succubus brothel, the comedy was more so amusing to me rather than downright hilarious. 9/10 for me.
