nikka I just watched the first 5 minutes and this is seriously on par and can go toe to toe with anything put out by Bones. First of all, this did not disappoint at all, Production IG nailed the overall atmosphere of the manga, and the characters designs are solid. The music is
, and the violence/gore factor is uninhibited since this is airing at a late night hour in Japan, and rightfully so. And to think, this is probably the most tame chapter of the manga that has been adapted so far. I read this series every month, so I'm happy that these guys managed to interpret the author's vision without a misstep(so far).
I will say: this is one series where you'll have to pay attention. Things happen subtly, either through character interactions, facial expressions, small actions, dialogue, etc, only to come around and slap you in the face hard later in the story on some "
oh shyt, that's why.." ish. I could point some things out that should be paid attention to in this ep, but I won't be a dikk about it. This shyt gets crazy as fukk though, and foul.
So far it's been confirmed for two seasons. Hopefully the ratings/dvd sales go well so that the entire manga can be adapted.

i wish i could get into Hunter X Hunter but the manga goes on hiatus so much seems pretty pointless. the anime will just end up catching up to the manga then will end and probably resume many years later. this isn't like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood where the anime basically caught up to the manga but both ended pretty close to the same time.
no. its written by the guy that wrote YuYu Hakusho. he started it and still writes it. i guess he got burned out writing his previous works so he takes breaks on this one. i've read that statistically since he began writing it its missed about hall the issues of Jump that have been published since then. both Naruto and One piece began around the same time within a year and have twice as many published Volumes.
