Y'all watching Boruto right?
Finished the Disciple Kenichi TV series. All of his training paid off in the end. Went from not being able to defend himself at all to defeating the strongest villian 1on1. Didn't just improve physically but mentally too - stopped doubting himself, stopped being passive and took initiative, volunteered himself for more training instead of needing to be told so, totally different mentality from episode 1.
@LauderdaleBoss was right in that watching this can inspire you to train and take a craft seriously. Doesn't even have to be martial arts related - practicing anything from playing an instrument to learning a foreign language will see dividends if you stay comitted, surround yourelf with other people passionate about that same thing. This isn't tagged as a sports anime, but the messages are similar to what you find in the genre.
Fun watch overall. Nothing too deep about it - just a guy working hard and slowly seeing results over a span of fifty episodes. Inspiring others around him to do better. Themes of hard work can beat raw talent, and just because someone progresses slowly doesn't mean they can't eventually blossom if they keep at it.
the shoes line still got me
I just want one happy arc is that too much to askIt was kinda weird because Fushi's creator was surprised with Gugu and even said the he would make Fushi stronger "in time".
Maybe he was talking about Gugu's eventual death making Fushi level up?
I liked how the intro of the ep. tied up with the creator letting Fushi what to do though. This series is very well made and I may end up reading the manga once this 20 episodes finish
This was always a fun little show with SO MUCH heart to it.
If they would’ve continued this anime, no don’t in my mind….. this would’ve been one to stand with some of the greats
Its already one of the greats. Definitely in my top 20.
You got classic anime that only have 13 episodes or 24.
So I don't see how an anime with 50 episodes and like 10 ova's can't be one of the greats. Its not like the ending was on some cliff hanger either. Plus it has better replay value than a lot of shows out there.
Hold up my GriffithSet Brother?
What 13 ep anime is a classic?
You got me thinking hard on that one
Prison School
Deadman Wonderland
Darwin's Game
Another
Elfen Lied
Devilman Crybaby
Death Parade
If these ain't classic (Prison School is definitely a fukking classic imo) then at the very least they are very good (meaning an 8 on the 1-10 scale) or those may be from genre's you don't fukk with so I can understand, but my point is that you can make quality anime in 13 episodes.
Whenever nikkas criticize Kenichi, they always say it should have been longer, like that's holding it back from being one of the greats. nikkas make it a negative when it should be a positive because the show was so damn good, you wanted to see more episodes.

It was just some underrated gem I stumbled across a few years back. Picture a 12 episode anime of the Warriors mixed with HBO's OZ. They gotta boss that rapes nikkas. Is this a Leonard Part 6 thing breh?
