Bottom Tier Character Tomozaki is worthy of the hammer.

The main character's character development is amazing. It's very much different than Oregairu but also of the same quality. I pray this gets more seasons.

It was kinda touch and go in the first few episodes but by the 4-6 I knew this was something special. I'd put this above Horimiya easily now.

hmmm I do agree the story telling is better in bottom tier and has exceeded my expectations for it which I had not much just sounded good
I still enjoy horimiya more tho can’t go wrong with either but I can see bottom tier passing it tho cuz off storytelling reasons but I love both mc from horimiya cuz chemistry is great

can't say enough about how good an adaptation this has been. you're lucky if an anime stays faithful to the source material, let alone manages to elevate it.

I think whenever you take a medium, and adapt it. The goal is to do that. Expand and provide dimensions. When you read Comics/Manga, your mind is suppose to fill in those action gaps. What MAPPA does for this, and David Productions for JoJo, they craft a scene to pay tribute but also make you see their vision of what happens between points A and C.

That takes art and also courage, because your fitting it within canon with it sometimes riding the edge of "this is cheesy" or "this is overdone".

It also takes a production committee that allows a studio to have that freedom. So many anime are forced into a certain direction by people behind the scenes, and the show winds up being a disappointment for reasons outside of the studio themselves.

With MAPPA, they appear to be very well organized and have earned enough trust to be given a certain degree of leeway. They are also very intune with their audience and only make changes that will enhance their experience.

One of my favorite additions from them is from the episode when Nobara was introduced. No action, just her calling Yuuji a dork with a rough voice and using a dialect.

This is minor enough to miss it entirely. But in two seconds it showcases her confidence and how she is designed to be different from typical female anime heroines. Not in the manga, added for emphasis.
